I'm too scared to listen. Funnily enough it's been getting loads of good reviews & press over here, usually their albums didn't get a mention. Typical if it happens when they turn shit. Hopefully it's good though.

They originally sounded like they were playing in the Nags Head on Only Fools and Horses, they now sound like they're playing the bar (if they had one) on Deep Space Nine.
It's that wafty.

Sounds about right. Album is really pretty lifeless - the production is ridiculously over the top and all sounds so false There might be tunes in there somewhere but the stupid vocal effect and general sound of the record kill it for me. Well disappointed after 1 listen

Track 6 is the highlight but the lyrics are just shit. Track 12 sounds like it has Rolf Harris playing the didgeridoo on it Shockng lyrics again. Some of the production effects aren't a million miles of what they done on that dodgy acoustic tour ep thing. I thought that was a joke "put any old shit out and rake the money in" deal but it is apparantly the new sounds.

I listened again to the Kasabian album and didn't hate it that much, but still leaves me so fuckin' cold. The suposed best moments feel like Kasabian by numbers to me, even brushing the parody.
I'll give this a spin after dinner, but I have no high hopes. Wouldn't really mind a comercial or softer turn if the tunes are there, but from what I've heard it doesn't seem like that.

First listen thoughts: 01: Dreamer - What's with the soft vocals? Actually sounds like Ocean Colour Scene 02: Long Walk Back - More along the right lines but fuck it's bland. Like the change after 2 mins 03: Sweetest thing - WHATS WITH THE VOCALS? The intro was so promising then these weak as shit vocals come in. Who the fucks singing? Tramp with the glasses? I want cockney anthems sung by cockney lads with cockney voices GAY FUCKING SONG, SOUNDS LIKE OCEAN COLOUR SCENE 04: Tangled up in love - Is the lightning seeds. Always thought the seeds had good pop songs but were so overproduced that I could never be a real fan which is summing up what I'm thinking of this album so far. Guitar solo sounds like something the Edge would put on a recent U2 album 05: Everline - oh fuck off handclaps This is shit lol 06: Love Is A Key Thought it was ok until the chorus came in, fuck it's cheesey, the fucking piano. Dig the solo.. serious though, I am not kidding when I say this... this sounds like status quo. 07: Falling - not as shit as the acoustic version but still gay shit 08: I nterlude - I fucking need this interlude. I've hated everything so far. Sounds like a leftover from Heavy Soul. least it's not embarrassing like what came before it. 09: Nothing Matters - 20 second intro has made me think the songs gonna be shit already. Sam, I know this song is it from the acoustic cd? I've definitely got this track. I didn't like it then & I don't like it now. 10: Going Home HAHAHAHAHAH ITS SHIT. Am I going to get through the whole album and not actually find one song I can say is pretty good??? 11: I Get Low This one is ok until the chorus. Weak as shit. Probably one of the better tunes, still don't like it. 12: Little Boy Blue - haha i'm hearing the ROLF. Bad fucking song. Miles too long, horrible lyrics. LOL at deano's really rubbish piano breakdown in the middle Least this song ends up having a bit more edge but it's still a snoozefest 13: Cry Baby - Another off the fucking acoustic CD, cheese. I think this is my favourite on the record even though I'm not sure if I even like it Ok first listen & yes I'm angry and maybe being overly harsh (probably not lol) but in all honesty I can't think of a bigger crash by a band ever. First two imo are classic British guitar/punk records of the past few years which I'll always wanna hear songs from. This just stinks of a band trying one last push to get some attention. I hope this album brings them nothing but failure. No fucking way am I paying to see them play half a set full of this shit, no fucking way. Shame, saw them about 20 times, had some great fucking nights & saw some top gigs. Might turn up for their christmas gigs in the boogaloo if they are on but the thought of paying 20 notes to hear 5th rate britpop makes me want to vomit. I bet the new hard-fi album is better than this.
