noelthenark worst alter ego ever, it is like somebody from BDI teem created him so they can nag all day and not come off as a no life cumrag. If it is David Yates what a sad sad old man.

I really like it. Its a really nice song, but I dont get why for example on nme website they have an article with loads of fans saying its better than Beady Eye. Its one song, its not as if he's just released a classic album. Certainly not as good as Four Letter Word or The Beat Goes On.
This shit about Liam holding Noel back as well. Wasnt Noel the main songwriter with the final say on album choices. The fact is he sung 3-4 songs on the past 4 Oasis albums, he could have stuck 4 of them songs on each one if he wanted. Nowt to do with Liam. I reckon the album will be amazing and it'll be great to see him live, but in 12-18 months time after his 2 albums have been released and he's played a load of gigs it'll get a bit boring on the live front and he'll be missing his brother then.

It reminds me a bit of Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite. Not really the tune, more the.... ahem.... circus vibe going on. Yup, I said circus vibe. They should put that on the poster. There's certainly a bit of TIOBI in there too, as it kinda swings along in this great carefree way, with Noel's light vocals on't top. Of course, he's not Liam, but I think his vocals really suit this kind of tune. It's pretty much what I expected, and that's perfectly ok, cos it's a good tune. Can't wait for the album now

I guess I'm one of the minority who was not impressed at all by this song Shame because I was looking forward to it. Maybe we'll get a couple of decent songs out of it just like the last few Oasis albums. The Turning and Falling Down are quite cool.

Certainly not as good as Four Letter Word or The Beat Goes On. Cos that's their hook innit. The hook that pulls in Joe Public, who doesn't usually care about Oasis records. Get a bit of conflict in there, real or not, and people get drawn to it. You can bet for every person putting it up against BDI, there's 3 replies not doing so, and just commenting on the record. They cherry-pick the BDI vs Noel ones, as that's their hook. It's all about the web-hits The NME site is pretty dreadful, tbh. They get news way after some of the other main music sites. Gone reet downhill

I like it. I'm not mad about it at this point, but, I like it. Right now, I reckon it's 1-0 Beady Eye.
The 1st thing we heard from them was Bring The Light. It was a bold move and it paid off. The song was a force, fucking fierce. With TDOYAM, Noel has played it pretty safe and I can't help but feel slightly let down.
There are Noel tracks on DOYS which are better than this (Waiting For The Rapture / Falling Down / Get Off Your High Horse Lady) and they, like Bring The Light, were different, making them a joy to hear for the fist time. With TDOYAM, Noel sounds like he's covering old ground.
Of course, I remain optimistic, it's just one song. Noel is the better craftsman and a creative force. Hopefully he'll show us that with the rest of the record.

It's alright, I like it. I like the floaty drums in the verses and the overal delicate & understated production. Solid effort What a surprise!

people on those guardian threads are just so desperate to find any other song it sounds vaguely like so they can say some pompous shit like "i liked this song when ray davies wrote it" or whatever.
even after all these years it still seems weird to me that noel gets subjected to scrutiny on this level way more than other artists. especially since noel has always pretty much worn his influences on his sleeve, in a much less deceitful manner than some 'original' artists i can think of.

Actually pretty excited about a b-side. He hasn't yet failed when it comes to including one for a comeback single... Talk Tonight/Acquiesce Stay Young Let's All Make Believe Idler's Dream n/a Falling Down (Chemical Brothers remix)

That chorus has been bugging me all day as it sounds like something and I've finally found what it was.
Great little song, though. Certainly not dull like The Fucking Roller was. The first 10 seconds to that song make my heart sink every time.
