I've decided to overcome my sheer hatred of TCOTU to venture down to this, its about 2005 since I last went to brixton academy though so:
good pubs nearby? preferably one with prices that won't make a scouser weep and also:
anyone else going on the thursday?

the beehive, complete shithole but very very cheap the dogstar, alright pub, normal prices, beer tastes of bananas and makes you violent. Plan B, pretty trendy usually only ever open from about 6pm onwards and will be full of people going to the gig but is a large place. Prices were cheap when they red-did it but now they've gone back up to normal TCOTU prices. Will play decent music though. Have to put up with 'no splash no gash' everytime you go for a piss though. Prince of Wales, probably the nicest pub, also the most expensive.
My choice, if you are gonna be there early go beehive until about 7 when it will be too busy to deal with them go plan B which is on the way to the venue.

Euston's shocking, isn't it?
It's only a ten minute walk from the edge of the city but the change in scenery is devastating.

Euston's shocking, isn't it? It's only a ten minute walk from the edge of the city but the change in scenery is devastating. its just dead. no ones actually there. that said it makes sense to stay round there since it makes leaving on saturday morning pretty simple
