5 plays later, and I gotta say, this is pretty fucking great. His best love song since Wonderwall, possibly. Reet grown on me Love the "my eyes have always followed you around the room" line Feels like it has true feeling and emotion in it, rather than tossed-out for the sake of it, which I reckon Noel's been guilty of a few times over the last few years Bet his missus is happy she has a tune from him that boots the fuck out of She Is Love now, too

Putting my Team BDI allegiance to one side for a second, i'm going to be honest here and say this tune pisses all over 'The Death Of You & Me' and after a few listens i could find myself loving this, it really suits his voice and the melody is beautiful, but he needs to strip it back a bit. Sometimes less is more. i can see Superjohnny changing teams ;D Nope, but unlike Team Noel us BDI Boys aren't blinkered.

I guess I'm just not seeing what Sardy brings to the table. His production makes the songs sound instantly dated. This! Seriously that guy is doing the same things over and over again, no variety, nothi g surprising at all....I don't recall one song produced by sandy that made me think "wow now that's fuxkin amazing!"... Having sad that, the song, due to it's sound is a bit boring, but I like it more and more with each listEn, especially through headphones. Really dig the lyrics, nothing groundbrEakin, but feel very natural and honest , not forced at all ( like say Hindu times, if u know what I mean). However, I want a decent rip, the drums sound awful on YouTube which makes a he difference I guess...

Well Sardy's produced DOYS, which had some great production moments (Falling down, Bag it up, Rapture), but i agree on this one, it sounds very 90s, when bands tried to copy Oasis actually. Luckily it's a Noel song, so it has that something more that makes it interesting. I'll wait until i hear the whole record to judge Sardy, coz TDOYAM has a top production, this one not so much.

That's what I thought. If Beady Eye had released they would have been murdered for copying the 90's Oasis sound. Bit sad that Noel's gone back to writing these types of songs after saying he was bored of them after SCYHO and starting to write more interesting stuff like Falling Down. I agree with everyone that it's a nice tune though

Good song and one that hints at the tantalising prospect that oasis might have spawned *two* great bands rather than just one.
However if this is the highlight (as i expect) then it looks like BDi will continue to dominate.

i could only listen through my crappy netbook speaker so far but what i can tell so far is that it's hauntingly beautiful. especially when the melody changes around that "excuse me if i spoke too soon" line. wetted my eyes the first time and still does tbh.

I hope he reworked Record machine by the way, coz the intro to if i had a gun is almost the same as the demo.

I genuinely liked what Sardy did on DBTT (DIYS not so much, but in hindsight i really dont like anything about that one much) But on DBTT everything is clearly separated in the mix and the vibe was really retro and you can hear a certain elvel of ccraftmanship i guess.. always found it similar to a Wild Wood or Stanley Road in sound any way. Nothing shocking anywhere but if you like your trad rock its a beautiful record.
The new song so far sounds like a sludgy, overpolished classic rock stew, theres no depth or soul in it (apart from the fact that noel's vocal is very good)

Anyone else hear last goodbye (enemy) in the opening bars and blinded by the sun elsewhere?

This obviously sounds like shit though, no contest.

i never minded she is love that much really, force of nature was the real hiroshima on that album for me.

she is love is pretty shit but inoffensive, never understood the hate for it over the plodding fucking bilge of force of nature or little by little.
