Its meant to sound repetitive though He's been saying for the past 2 months that he' been listening to Strings of life by Rhythm is rhythm and other tunes from that time have influenced the song. Of course it going to sound repetitive, its that type of tune. After everything hes said and people are still expecting this song to have guitar solos and that yeah well it's boring. it's strongly inspired by the Charlatans Wonderland songs (even more so than what you mention), and those songs are not boring at all. They're dance, but they evolve, there's a built up. Not saying it's a bad tune, it's a strong effort, but i fall asleep past 2.30. Last time that was BHN. I guess he didn't learn the lesson or let someone else decide the structure of his songs. Same could apply to If i had a gun really. Only TDOYAM is spot on as of now.

After everything hes said and people are still expecting this song to have guitar solos and that "Any news on when we'll hear the full version? Glad theres a guitar solo in there later on in the song. " Your quote from the "Beady Eye Beaten" thread.

i actually do like this tune a fair bit, and for me it isn't too guilty of what i'm about to say, but i'll add to unintended's post cause i was thinking the same thing earlier.
i don't really get noel's apparent aversion to guitar solos these days. so many of his greatest ever hooks have been in his solos, and for all his faults musically i think few would argue that his nack for a catchy melody is a gift he's never lost. so why limit his opportunities to show that strength by ditching solos? it'd be fine if he replaced them with something interesting, but it's like he's literally just taken a section of the song that would have a solo and removed the solo, leaving a meaningless void of sound in its place. take for example the segment between the first two choruses of if i had a gun, perfect potential for a classic blustery solo, but instead there's just the same boring thing repeted four times. wasted bars.
i've liked all these songs so far to some extent, i feel that noel was in great form on DOYS and has continued to write good songs, but his arrangements really really need a kick up the arse. either go back to full on bombastic solos and overblown choruses or move on to something else entirely. at the moment he's stuck in the middle, and it's choking what could be excellent songs into merely quite good ones.
maybe the next album with AA we'll see a bit of this. if that album ever even gets released (i have my doubts tbh).

not because it's not going up your arses means it's going nowhere. and some of you are still on that 'production' crap? you realise it's coming from the internet through your cheap sound card through your fucking speakers? are you stupid or what? and the song is for 24 hour party people.. and you're obviously not. I love it. great one. for what it is - it's a fucking dance song. tob what do you honestly know about dance music.

Maybe if it would've been out before he decided to bang his ex-girlfriend without a condom on it would've saved him a lot of troubles.

Jimmy, honest question. Why do you defend literally everything Noel does, says or every form of 'criticism' towards him? Isn't there nothing you dislike about the man? In terms of songs, decisions he makes musicwise? Just curious, because as much as Liam is the biggest don on the planet, I could name a few songs etc. he did I don't like. I'm not in love with him, you know. Do you have a crush on him? For the record, this has nothing to do with the BDI vs. Noel stuff. I mean, I even gave you some great recommendations in your foreign film thread. Just some questions from man to man, you know Yeah he should have ditched Sardy as producer for this record. Made a clean break from his Oasis ties.

I like the song. Noel's voice is refreshing.
Just hope he never be compared to the fat dancer.

I give this one couple of spins,so actually I like it very much, but could have been so much better, missing some variety, not necessarily a guitar solo, just something different in the middle section....
But those woo-hoos in the outro ? WTF? Noel seriously ?

It's definitely grown on me. Agree it's a bit monotonous, but in a way it kind of works for me. Definitely don't see how a solo would fit in. Quite like the lyrics. Think it'll be great live.

I think it's just the monotonous plodding drums, probably played by himself. The rest is ok
