Anyone tried it? I got one for the missus for Christmas which came yesterday. Decided she can have i as an early present so I can use Garageband Now, I'm thinking of recording my next musical project using Garageband entirely and nothing else. Already laid one tune down (no lyrics) which sounds very country and will continue to do so. What I'd like to know is: 1) Would anybody have objections listening to work created entirely on Garageband? 2) Has anybody ever used Garageband to make any music? Cheers, -Tom

Really? Not the best endorsement then, eh?

I wasnt slagging him off, his musics not my cup of tea really but theres nothing intrinsically wrong with it. he'd have used mac garageband though. ipad one is limited in what you can do, but theres no real problem in using it. gorrillaz made an album on an ipad last year too. now thats really not the best endorsement though, come to think of it.
I plan to get an ipad next week actually, assuming the euro hasnt tanked before then (I get paid in euros)

I haven't heard his album in all fairness, was just being mean.
iPad Garageband is limited but it has guitar, drums, bass, keys. Plus, you can plug an external mic in to record samples as vocals as well as plug a guitar into it and use the bulit-in amp. You can probably do just as much with the iPad version of Garageband.

I don't see anything wrong with it at all, i'm sure there will be some people who will never get over the recording in a studio only thing, but if the technology is there, why not use it.
Especially on your stuff Tucks which is quite lo-fi and sketchy anyway, don't see why it would be a problem.
Karl Mahoney's, seminal album 'Learning The Trade' was recorded entirely on an i-phone I believe.

I don't plan on re-recording any of the tracks I've done already, not using Garageband, anyway. But, this give me the change to make some music with a more polished and fuller sound.
