I've seen people on twitter calling out Gillespie as some kind of monster but none of us know the truth or what the situation actually was. Most likely a salty family member pissed off that there's no cash left.

I dunno, making Mike Rowe or Drew McConnell a salaried touring musician is one thing, but Duffy was pretty integral to the primal scream sound. Seems odd to me.

The twitter warriors have been going mental "I know Gillespie was a cunt all along!".
If you read the full thing "Dad was only making around 40K a year towards the end". Primal Scream have done about 20 gigs a year for the past decade (covid excluded). 2K for a nights work ain't too shabby is it? Most musicians I pay to see would bite your hand off to be earning 40K a year in todays climate. Now did he deserve more? probably.
The royalty sale does sound off, you'd have to know the ins and outs of what was exactly was sold and what Duffy's name was actually on. It's certainly not a good look for Mr "I'm a huge socialist" Gillespie at all. Though all we have is the statement of someone that's just lost their Dad. Two sides to every story. Nobody entertains the thought that perhaps Duffy had gone so far off the rails he was a complete pain in the fucking arse & a liability for years. Or Maybe Gillespie really is just a two faced nasty cunt. Either way, we don't know.
