New track from their LP available here: www.field-music.co.ukSounds decent. Really enjoyed their last album, despite it being 5678 tracks long. Anyone arsed about them? They're from Sunderland. I bet they still hate Jimmy though.

I really didn't like their last album. Far too ambitious for it's own good and went a bit PROG at times.

I rate the current Sunderland bands in this order:-
Field Music>>>>The Futureheads>>>>Frankie & The heartstrings
Detroit Soical Club arent a Sunderland band. I think they are more Newcastle along with Maximo Park although their singer is a Sunderland supporter.
Field music are by far the most influential band in these parts. Good lads aswell.

I saw them a few years back on a Friday night, when Sunderland were playing in a fairly important promotion game. I was giving them score updates inbetween songs. They seemed more arsed about the football than the gig tbh I also hear they are all confirmed members of Team BDI. Sorry Jimmy.

The Golden Virgins are the ultimate cult indie band from Sunderland.

The Golden Virgins drummer and The futureheads drummer have just released an album together. Its alright actually.
Sunderland has a pretty good little music scene going to be honest. I think its because theres fuck all else to do, there seems to be new bands popping up every month. All of the members of these bands knocked about in the legendary Ku Club which is now closed unfortunatley, a little indie dive but had some great times in there.
