1. Azealia Banks 2. Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) 3. Honor Titus (Cerebral Ballzy) 4.+5. Tom Meighan and Serge Pizzorno (Kasabian) 6. Lana Del Rey 7. Rhys Webb (The Horrors) 8. Theo Hutchcraft (Hurts) 9. Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys) 10. Ellery Roberts (WU LYF) Noel's 11 and Liam's 50. How the fuck of Tom and Serge made into the top 10? Ellery Roberts should have won tbh ;D

Oh and NME now sells about 29k copies a week. I think Melody Maker went under with 40-50k

You a fan of WU LYF, Sam? Was in a bar last night, it's a bit "trendy" and soulless tbf, but they played a WU LYF track and I punched the air. Huge moment.
They then played The Gossip.

Yeah mate, went to see them about a month ago. Bumped into Big Bad Bazza. I run to the top of a hill on Sunday. The sun came out and L Y F came on shuffle. Fucking huge moment

NME survives because of its website, and the associated "brand" products it now has such as its live tours and awards ceremonies.
The overheads of producing a magazine which these days is mainly 40 pages of big pictures and gig adverts is pretty small. It's actual staff is tiny compared to other mags, and the money it pays to freelancers is miniscule.
I'd wager that eventually it will move to monthly publication and specials-only issues and will concentrate mainly on its website, but even then that will be a few years down the line, It's such a well-known name that as long as teenagers want to grow their hair, pose and play guitars, there will be an NME of some sort.

I honestly read that and for a second thought HOMOSEXUAL must be some TCOTU electro act that I hadn't heard of.
