Let me tell you it pain's me to say it but it's a major disapointment. My initial buzz for it has evaporated and I havent played it in the last 4 weeks. 3 great tunes on it but I was expecting so much more. The lyrics are really really lazy. It's a sad day for me.

I've gotten bored of most of it as well now. Tend to just stick a couple of the bonus tracks on & that'll be the lot.
Definitely a good solid record but for the debut record from Noel Gallagher I definitely expected much more.
Saying that it is still better than debut's by Ashcroft, Brown & Weller so it's not a bad start.

Production plays a part and Sardy has made a huge mess of it. Just awful. There's nothing subtle about it and its souless. Everybody is on the run should have been one of his greatest ever songs instead it's been butchered by Sardy. My mother heard If I had a gun and liked it. I thought then maybe he needs to strip this down.
The song by the way, not my mother.

Its hard to balance expextations with this one. Its easey to think it should have been as good as all things must pass. In the end it falls short of legendary but is still great. Not a bad track on it. Like morning glory, all of the filer songs are amazing. You can't pick a favorite cos their are so many and can't pick a least best because none of them qualify

I still like it alot tbh. The 2 tracks that I tend to skip are Record Machine and Stop The Clocks. That could be 'cos I heard them ages ago though. Everybody's On The Run is the best song Noel's written/sang on since The Masterplan imo.

I've never bothered listening to this yet. Listened to Beady Eye once. Another massive win for Captain Iglo

The 3 starting songs on their own make it for me tbh. It's quite far from a masterpiece but I accept it for what it is, a pretty enjoyable record. Still I wish it wasn't in my top5 of the year but there's no other way

To be fair I was always more excited for the AA album.... I'm pretty sure it was what Noel wanted to release but was advised by those around him to start with something a little more familiar, so he cobbled together a few old demos, soundchecks and got dave sardy on board. Pretty dull, STC and record machine are worse than the demos. The strings and choir for EOTR are epic, no need for the bass and drums untill the singing kicks in and the soundchecks of IIHAG is better than the recorded version.
