i wonder how much these tickets usually go for once they are sold out. I doubt I'll be able to find a place to stay and fly over there by april but i'm tempted to at least buy a couple of tickets and sell them off

If the fella needs the money let him tout away. The world is in recession and not everyone can afford to just spend £1100 at the drop of a hat.

He can find an honest way to earn it and I'm pretty sure either way he has a roof over his head and food on his table. Not everyone can afford to pay double the price for an already expensive ticket thanks to touts either. Touts are scum.

Karl if you want to go in with myself and my favorite bartenders drug dealer. We plan to buy about 500 of them. Doubt Id be able to do it anyways as I'll be prepping to teach. For what its worth I once had free tickets to a John Mayer gig and didnt really care to/couldnt go and put it up on craigslist. Some guy offered me more than what they are worth but I ended up giving them up for about half value cause some mom wrote me hoping they were available cause it was for her sons birthday. So while I made money I still made a moral move. That said if I could buy a couple tickets and get some loaded kid to have daddy put down some bucks I would. It is a douchey move but I want to start putting money away to go to a festival here or over in the UK in 2013. Bangarang

I do need to go to one of em. Im hoping to be interviewing for a couple of full time gigs in the next month or so. They wouldnt involve me doing what I want (teach, but I only sub now and more cuts instead of hires could be on the way. im attempting to talk this old broad into retiring but i think she hates her husband) but the money is pretty good for starting pay on at least two that a recruiter can get me an interview on. If the above happens then I'll be borrowing Evans union jack and making a run at it come 2013

I'm not denying that the festival has most likely more than its fair share of pricks, but the only reason why dozens of people on my facebook have been going on about this years' festival and why its a big buzz right now is the sheer quality of the lineup. Not because of the celebrities attending.
The guy who thinks he's too cool for music festivals is one that really stands out.

I can't take leave around then after all so unfortunately I can't. Still I guess the idea of being in a field full of people having fun and enjoying themselves would probably be shit for someone like you.

No. It's the shit line-up combined with the drinking areas that would make it shit for me. All bands on the line-up are either shit or play every festival/10 million concerts a year in Europe as well. As I stated before, the line-up doesn't even matter that much on a festival (even though a three day festival should have about 6 to 8 'killer' acts) as it's about having fun/getting pissed with your mates. But that's quite impossible on a festival like this. People should boycot this nonsense ;D

Of course the lineup matters FFS , I love pissing around and drinking with mates at a festival, but I can do that readily without spending loads of money on a music festival. Radiohead don't play all that many festivals, certainly they dont do a circuit of the big ones every summer, Pulp everyone thought had finished for good after last years' gigs, Dre and Snoop Dogg arent exactly festival fixtures, Refused and At the Drive In are both big comebacks after a long time away, GYBE, The Shins, Jegg Magnum and Explosions in the Sky you don't see at most European festivals and then theres loads of bands who have been playing a fair few festivals but who are ace, like Bon Iver, The Horrors, Justice, Yuck, Wu Lyf, M83, Wild Beasts etc. As much as I find Noel's music boring he hasnt played that many festivals either and there will be people who want to see him. There's a few genuinely shit acts who every festival going (Kaiser Chiefs, David Guetta, Kaiser Chiefs, La Roux) but they're massively outnumbered.
