I have to say I thought it was all fucking terrible . My heart sank when he bowled out and went robotically for the front row and churned out that charmless pre-rehearsed 'banter' he does 'you look like x' 'you look like y' 'you look like z with a dead baby on top'. His stand-up, (or the stand up he chooses to do, because I refuse to believe this is all he is capable of going by 70% of his Mock The Week stuff/the letter he wrote in defense of his 'Jew' joke) is so depressing, it's just the stuff you say amongst mates to try and shock each other, I can't imagine paying to see it. I think it sums it up that if you removed the words 'paedophile' 'rape' and 'cunt' from his vocabulary he would be completely hamstrung, it's not that you shouldn't do jokes about that stuff, but most his jokes purely rely on the shock value of the words rather than any sort of skill, which most frustratingly of all he does have. He's guaranteed an audience and payday whatever he does now, so why keep churning this shit out? I did laugh when George Michael done a wank though. Yeh i totally agree with this (although i haven't seen Tramadol Nights yet), his stand-up is fucking abysmal. I downloaded his latest DVD show the other day and 90% of it was literally rape, paedophilia and disease jokes. Plus the obligatory insults thrown at anyone in the first two rows. He's become a modern day Chubby Brown ffs.

Bit harsh. You know what i mean though, he's a bit of a one-trick pony on stage, it's all rape, paedophilia, murder or disease once he's got the random "how you doin little fella...you look like..." jokes out of the way.

It's one of the worst things I've ever seen on TV.
Didn't mind his stand-up stuff when he first emerged but now it's just woeful. He uses shock in completely the wrong way. His shock-humour isn't remotely funny he just does it to look outrageous and get a reaction (the wrong kind of)
I agree with Bobothy, too. Not as bad as Chubby but he's going down the same path and becoming a parody of himself.

Why does he always put on a terrible American accent during the sketches?

Did anyone see him hosting Buzzcocks? Just so so much better and probably the funniest episode since Amstell left. Sometimes his delivery still revelled in its own charmlessness, but with other comedians, chirpy popstars, show regulars and the like to bounce off and lighten the mood a bit (as well as someone else editing him) it was really good stuff
