This needs its own thread. As a huge fan of the band i'd practically written off Corgan as a creative enitity but this new record is a huge huge comeback. It takes a few listens but i'm hooked. My favourite of the year so far. Some classic moments on it, it doesnt sound forced and Billy's voice sounds like it used to. Dunno who is playing in the band anymore but to me Corgan is the Smashing Pumpkins anyway and always has been.

It's pretty decent. Never been a huge fan of their albums back in the day. Always liked a handful of tracks on each record then the rest wouldn't do much for me. I don't think anything on here reaches the highs of their best tracks but it's a pretty consistently good record. Much better than I'd expect Billy to sound in 2012 anyway.

Thing is it seems like it's getting warm reviews from long time fans, like a DBTT for the Pumpkins. I think I'll pass.
