Will be out in a few months. Influenced by Screamadelica apparently, although early whispers said it would have the xtrmntr vibe. debbie googe from My Bloody Valentine will replace Mani for good.
Kevin Shields fully on board. Jagz Kooner and David Holmes have said great things.
I liked their last album. If this is better than beautiful future I'll be fucking ecstatic.
Much more exciting than a band with one good album doing a few gigs. ;D
The 10th primal scream album, FUCK YEAH.

They did a new tune at Heaton park though I was stuck at the bar at the time, sounded alright.
Wasn't really a fan of the past two records but the Scream are never a band you can write off. Glad they've got talented people involved in the new project. When left to their own devises they tend to just try fall into a 2nd rate version of the Stones & Stooges. Not overly optimistic but as I said, you never know with the scream.

The time is right for a great Scream comeback. Absolutely. Their at a crossroads now, whilst the last album wasn't too bad they've had 2 pretty average albums in a row now and they need to pull out something big to stay relevant and not go the way of someone like the charlatans who've slid into total irrelevance.

Did you not like You Cross My Path stocky? I honestly thought that's the best thing they'd done since Wonderland.
Not that I ever listen to them anymore. Even my favourite Charlatans tracks bore me when I hear them, hopefully after a few years rest I'll come back to them.

I think the success of the Screamadelica tour will revitalise them. Not much has been said at all about this album, they've proven to an extent with the last couple of records they can write good catchy rock n roll and pop hits.
If time has proven one thing, it's that Evil Heat is a great record, and they've definitely got it in them to better that record.
The scream are always at their best when theyre in danger of becoming a relic.

There's no way they would be stupid enough to record a guitar album in 2012 so I reckon it'll all be fine.

Even my favourite Charlatans tracks bore me when I hear them, hopefully after a few years rest I'll come back to them. Is that the one with Oh Vanity on it? Think I listened to it once then disregarded it. Like yourself I rarely listen any charlatans these days, even the classic stuff, so I don't really make any time to listen to their new stuff.

That's the one, I thought that was a pretty damn good record. The other three since Wonderland on the other hand I doubt I'd ever be in a rush to ever hear again.

Hope its good, haven't been a fan of a Scream record since the turn of the century really. Seen them at Glastonbury and TITP doing Screamadelica last year, was fucking amazing. I've got a funny feeling this one might be good.

the talk of the charlatans in this thread allows me to shoehorn in THIS AMAZING FACT...
TIM BURGESS' NEW BIRD IS ORIGINALLY FROM NORWICH. I HAVE STAYED AT HER FLAT BEFORE AND SNOGGED HER SISTER ABOUT 8 YEARS AGO.

Riot City Blues sucks Axl, it's the worst think they've ever done. No it aint. Albums in order. 1) Xtrmntr 2) Evil Heat 3) Vanishing Point 4) Screamadelica 5) Riot City Blues 6) Beautiful Future 7) Primal Scream 8) Give out 9) Sonic Flower Groove (still 8 million times better than the beady eye album)

a couple of thoughts on the scream, theyre awesome but evil heat is largely sausage. itd be passable as an ep, but it doesnt stand very tall as an lp for me. its a rare occasion i agree with a pitchfork review. secondly, beautiful feature, its not so bad. i sorta dismissed it at the time, felt lightweight very un primal scream to me in some ways, but there are some nuggets to be found on there in recent reevaluation.
and finally i too, dunno why but cant shake the good feeling ive got that this new record is going to be quality.
