Evil Heat is very underrated IMO & holds up as a pretty strong record. I think the fact it was essentially XTRMNTR part II meant it was always going to be overshadowed by what is one of the greatest records of the 00's. Stuff like Rise, City, Autobahn & Detroit are essentially scream tracks in my book.
Since seeing the Screamadelica tour my love for the record grew tenfold. I always liked tracks from it but as a whole it never worked but now it's completely perfect.
riot City is a mess. I kind of appreciate Country Girl for the anthem it is. I really dig Suicide Sally & Johnny Guitar in a throwaway rock n roll kind of way I dig I can See a Liar & Put your money & then theres When The Bomb Drops which I think is fucking superb. Unfortunately the rest of the record was just pony for me.
Beautiful Future I think I'm going to revisit. After Riot City Blues I wasn't ready for just how light hearted & poppy the record was so instantly hated it for not sounded how I wanted it to sound. Theres definitely some good stuff on there though but it's far from being an essential Primal Sceam record. Still, how many bands from the 90's onwards have three records as good as XTRMNTR, Vanishing Point & Screamadelica in there cannon? Not many.
