Yet another reason why this is one of the best films of the 2010's (?) imgur.com/a/C3jUq

Seems weird that someone would capture all that now as if it's some sort of revelation. It was clearly obvious and very noticeable that they'd gone for certain stylistic themes throughout especially with the colours. Many of Kubrick's films do the same. Think I will eventually pick Drive up on Blu, I'd imagine it looks great.

repeat viewings haven't done too much to soften my opinion that this is a good but very overrated film in general, but you certainly can't fault the way it looks (and sounds).
that is some lovely color work tbh because i can't say it occurred to me when i watched it, but it looks blatantly obvious in those pictures. which means they probably got it spot on. or i'm an inattentive spazmaloid.

Yup. To the trained eye it seems obvious, but to the average person this sort of thing usually goes unnoticed. Which, to me, means it's a job well done.

Of course anyone can play guitar, but not everyone can be Hendrix.
Point is, Drive motherfucking rules with the blue/orange theme.

That analogy doesn't work because Hendrix was one of the pioneers in what he did, whereas with the blue and orange scheme Drive is just following a familiar pattern seen in so many films.
Don't get me wrong it's a fucking brilliant film for loads of reasons. Just this isn't one of them.

I think it is one of the reasons why it's so good, because it takes something that's being commonly done and takes it to an entirely new level. It probably wouldn't be the same film if it used a different aesthetic, color scheme or cinematography. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

I dunno, it seems initially this was presented as something pretty unique to the film, and now it's been shown its been done loads of times before it's just like "oh but Drive did it better"

I prefer the color palette of danish film "terribly happy". Pretty cool anyways because orange is the best color
