let's keep this in the right thread my ranking: 4 (the best series of any non-animated tv show ever) 2 (severely underrated, maybe the most cohesive of all the series) 3 = 1 (these two complement each other so well i couldn't pick between them) 5 (the worst by virtue of the fact for the first few episodes it seems to have lost the plot, but turns it around beautifully imo when all the threads start to evolve and converge)

1. 4 (after every season of mad men, maybe my favourite season of any TV show ever). 2. 3 (Brother Mouzone and Omar, together at last!) 3. 1 4. 2 (Didn't love it, didn't hate it, but amazing to see them be able to completely switch the characters of the show and have it still fit.) 276524265. 5
I can't describe how disappointed I was by the 5th season. The newspaper parts, where Simon was clearly just working out his own personal issues, just killed it for me, and I didn't buy McNulty completely losing it with the 'serial killer' stuff. Some of the other parts, like showing how the kids would evolve into the next generation of the same people we just watched, I really liked, and Bunk being 'real PO-lice' was good, but overall it left a really sour taste in my mouth after the highs of the previous four.
Tieing it briefly back into the batman thread, I actually LOLed in the movie theatre when Carcetti popped up at the beginning of Batman.

i've gotta say that brother mouzone, although undeniably fucking cool, was possibly my least favourite character in all of the wire. he just felt way too "comic book" and over the top, like he was dropped in from a whole different series altogether.
someone will probably tell me now that he was based on someone really similar in real life. i know omar was, right? but omar felt unbelievable in a believable way, if that makes sense, whereas mouzone just felt unbelievable.

Na, fuck Mouzoney, he didn't fit into that world at all. Strange that they could nail something as difficult as Hamsterdam or the character of Stringer Bell but introduced that bellend into the show.
I will drop my rankings later.

nice idea, can't argue with the final two tbh. they sold the stevedores of series 2 well short though. and... prop joe > avon bunk > mcnulty think marlo is generally undervalued as a character as well, i loved him. given a tough draw against bodie there though

The dockworkers weren't around long enough, and the only other one who could feasibly make it from that season is the Ben Affleck-looking guy whose name I can never remember.

1. Season 1 2. Season 3 3. Season 4 4. Season 2 5. Season 5
All rate between 9.5/10 and 10/10. Only Sopranos comes close it it, oh and Band of Brothers

Look at the respect Marlo, Chris and Snoop had for New York ;D You can say they evolved from Avon/Omar's generation in terms of violence and a lack of fear but seriously tophat would get merked in that environment. He's just a small blip on a nigh on perfect show though (Along with McNulty in the last series )
