So Tony Scott, the director of one of the best films ever, True Romance, killed himself by jumping off a bridge after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He also directed Man on Fire, another one of my favorite films. Although I'll never forgive him for Domino, still. What a big, big shame.

True Romance was the only film I liked by him, not a fan of his others. Shit though, what a tragic end, terminal brain cancer then suicide It leads me to the question - how the fuck can anyone believe there's a god?

tbh. gutted oh and apparently his wife has said that the rumours he had a brain tumor were false. we'll have to wait for the autopsy to know either way.

RIP. I enjoy a few of his films,
True Romance is a good film with some great scenes and a superb cast but I always watch it and can't help but wonder how much better it would of been if Tarantino had directed it. Mad to think he sold that script for only 50,000 dollars to fund most of Reservoir Dogs.

Is it wrong that i cant feel any compassion for a man who kills himself? Selfish prick. yes. because if someone genuinely wants to die, should they really stay alive in utter misery to spare people grieving over them?

Is it wrong that i cant feel any compassion for a man who kills himself? Selfish prick. It's not wrong that you don't feel compassion, but it is wrong that you judge him and call him a selfish prick when you clearly do not know what his motives were. He could've had a mental condition (severe depression, etc) that went untreated or something. I never get why people call suicide selfish. Why should someone stay alive being a burden to others if they clearly can't take life's pressures? This society is FUCKED and I applaud anyone with the balls to end it for themselves and escape from how ultimately futile life really is.

If somebody feels worthless and depressed then they clearly feel worthless and depressed to others, so feel it's the only way out. That appears selfish to others yet ultra unselfish to the individual, so it's unfair to slaughter it for being thoughtless.

This society is FUCKED and I applaud anyone with the balls to end it for themselves and escape from how ultimately futile life really is. I can stretch it to sort of agree that it comes down to person to person and their specific circumstances sometimes. But in general I feel it is selfish because usually most that commit suicide don't try hard enough and take the easy way out of life. And I have no respect for that at all. And when it comes to Tony Scott he was over 70 years old and leaves a wife standing there alone when life is coming rapidly towards their end and she has no easy way at all to re-start her life. He might feel bad but he takes no consideration for his wife whose life he completely destroys with this act. Maybe you could say it's more acceptable then as it's not a young person leaving a whole family behind to live with it for 60 more years but again, it's the easy way out of life that annoys me. Is it wrong that i cant feel any compassion for a man who kills himself? Selfish prick. I hope Denzel Washington shoves a bomb up your face Up my face? How the hell would that work?

Suicide isn't the easy way out, I never understand how people can say that. If anything, it's the hardest decision anyone could ever make. From the actual planning to the execution to thinking about the repercussions, it is extremely fucking hard to go through with something like suicide. I do feel bad that he left 2 little kids behind to suffer for not having a father, but then again he probably left them set for life (money-wise) and they would grow up to be fucked anyway, within that Hollywood life. I don't know, sometimes I think I'd rather not have a parent than have them being depressed and suicidal all the time. But that's just me, I guess. I don't find suicide to be that big of a deal, personally.

Did he direct Star Wars? If so, I say, just desserts! I mean who says, "We need to fight a Star Wars. Let's draft all orphans and vacuum cleaners!" Some people! SMH (I think I know what that stands for).
