I think I've listened to Be Here Now more than any other Oasis song. The Reprise of All Around The World is fucked cos of a scratch on the CD. Haven't bought another copy yet.

its easy to say its bad, because it was the beginning of the end for them in 'credibility" whatever that means, and yes its overproduced but the main point here is NOTHING not any material woulda been anything but a come down from the level of hype they were at, and the quality they were producing. there wont be a band like them again as long as we all live.
on its own merits its actually a pretty good album, there is lots of tinkering that could be done, guitar parts taken off tracks cut down, but as much as he wont admit there are some of noels best songs on there, i mean dont go away, dykwim, stand by me (if edited) its getting better man, theyre all immense. and then theres weird little personal favs like hope i think i know and the madness of all around the world being 2 years long.
Oh, and christ liam sings the hell out of it. he is amazing throughout.

Even the oft forgotten tracks like Girl in the dirty short and Fade in/out - they sound like no other Oasis songs up to that point, and they're more than just solid.

Its getting better man is one of the best things they did. ;D ;D brilliant album, wouldn't change it. the less good bits just add to its power, imo. Yeah, I wouldn't touch a single thing. True perfection has to be imperfect, innit. |
