Think I saw them support Metronomy once, they were pretty decent.
Their album has rave reviews so I really should check it out.

The few songs I've heard have been incredibly dull.

Yeah, seem real dull from what I've heard.
I'd rather listen to The Jesus Abyss.

Out of nowhere they're on Nme.com being hyped as 'the new Radiohead' by the bookies in the runup to the Mercurys. Who are the bookies? It reeks of a cheeky record company hype. Wonder how much they paid for that? The tune I listened to was guff as well.

Yeah, they were on the 2nd smallest stage at Latitude a few months ago where most bands play in front of about 400 people tops and all of a sudden they have announced a Brixton Academy date for May 2013. It's amazing how record companies can dictate what the average music fan will be listening to in a years time.
Just had a listen to a couple more tunes on youtube, Christ they are boring.

The should hold their gigs on a farm because they're going to be playing to a lot of sheep in the next year.

Abs bid to uncover the universally liked Soapbox band of 2012 has failed miserably. Stick to talking about your balcony chum, leave the uncovering of new bands to Karlos, Moz and myself.

From the name alone, they sound like DOUCHEBAGS. I hope your husband slaps you for using that word. Their name isn't alt j though, their name is the triangle symbol that typing that on a mac creates. Which is even worse.
