Pretty big on this kind of stuff at the minute. Stuff in the same vein as JAMC / J&MC / BRMC etc. So, I've looking around (LastFM, Spotify, YouTube) and found a few things I really like.
If Emily (or whoever you spell it) can have a 'twee indie pop' thread, then I'm having this.
Here are a few YouTube videos to start things off:

haha @ Emily Some of my favourite records, some are debatable if they fall under the genre but they have the vibe that I just think of as moody rock. One per artist, Dark Side Of The Moon The Doors Monks - Black Monk Time (1966) The 13th Floor Elevators - The Psychedelic Sounds of The 13th Floor Elevators (1966) The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967) The Doors - The Doors (1967) Love - Da Capo (1967) Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) The Jesus and Mary Chain - Darklands (1987) My Bloody Valentine - You Made Me Realise E.P. (1988) The Vaselines - Dum-Dum (1989) (could also fit into the twee pop thread I guess, enough elements of both) Mazzy Star - She Hangs Brightly (1990) Slowdive - Slowdive E.P. (1990) Ride - Going Blank Again (1992) The Verve - A Northern Soul (1995) The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Bravery, Repetition & Noise (2001) Spiritualized - Let It Come Down (2001) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - B.R.M.C. (2001) The Raveonettes - Whip It On (2002) The Warlocks - Surgery (2005) The Voices - The Voices (2005) The Morning After Girls - Shadows Evolve (2005) The Black Angels - Passover (2006) The Stevenson Ranch Davidians - Psalms, Hymns, & Spiritual Songs (2006) The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (2009) The Tamborines - Camera & Tremor (2010) The Horrors - Skying (2011) Ringo Deathstarr - Colour Trip (2011) S.C.U.M - Again Into Eyes (2011) The Psychedelica compilations are worth checking out for 00's psych bands with the jonestown type sound. In the 00's theres been alot of bands I've really liked who have this sound, unfortunately loads of them seem to struggle to transfer their live sound onto record very well. The Asteroid #4 have some great tunes but their albums never do it for me, superb live act. Still never got into any Spaceman 3 records fully, usually like certain tunes. Need to spend more time listening to them tbh.

Carlepatrique, we could be soulmates if only you didn't despise Allo Darlin'.
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart belong to my thread.

I think their first album belongs here more though like The Vaselines debut they have enough of both. Their second album I didn't like very much as it belongs to your thread Allo Darlin'

Always loved Sunsplit and The Asteroid #4. There's a lot of bands in that BJM slipstream that are decent. Then again, some are so clichéd they border on Spinal Tap. (Singapore Sling, The Lovetones). Spacemen 3 are fantastic tbh.
Personal favourites:
Spiritualized - Fucked Up Inside Verve - Voyager 1 Honolulu Mountain Daffodils - Tequila Dementia Loop - Heaven's End

Been listening to a band today called Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor, and, I fucking love them. They sound a bit like The Warlocks covering The Doors to me. Which is both good and bad considering The Warlocks are fantastic and The Doors are the second worst band ever (after The Beach Boys of course).

I've never got into The Doors that much, Johnno. Loving these, though. The vocalist has a touch of the Kurt Cobain's about him.
