I'll tell you who bore me to tears. The Foo Fighters, they bore me to tears. I agree, songs always seem to have too many parts and I can never buy into Dave group the singer. Always just seems like a joke. As regards liam, think he's smashing it right now but surprised with the brass section he's not doing flick of the finger and by the rights that he's doing "noels oasis songs" then four letter word should be on there too. Out of his newies I'm loving greedy soul and you better run you better hide, sounding huge with the brass on there. Proper stones stuff. Agree that universal gleam is a bit naff, and was exactly what I was fearing from an 11 song liam written album.

There was always gonna be some filler on Liam's album. Universal Gleam isn't dreadfully bad or anything, just a bit boring.

I will go to Glastonbury one day but until then I'll settle for the BBC/iPlayer coverage.
I didn't watch a ton of the sets this year, and with the exception of Barry Gibb, I don't think I've watched anything from Sunday.
The Lemon Twigs were really good. Never expected they would sound so good live. I also enjoyed Royal Blood a ton more than I thought I would seeing as I'm not a huge fan of them or anything. Then of course, there was Radiohead who were superb. I watched this one on Saturday morning with my daughter who watched intently. I tried to watch The Flaming Lips with here also but she kept telling me she didn't like it and to turn it off.
First of all, Jeremy Corbyn, that was pretty weird. Good, but weird. I'm glad he did it and it sent a great message. Liam Gallagher was on top form. He's sounding better than he has done since probably 2002 which is insane to say but he was on point. I do think he struggled on Rock & Roll Star a bit but he definitely warmed up. Father John Misty was alright but it was a lot from his new one which I don't love yet but haven't listened that much too. The National were dog shit. I was really disappointed because I love them as a band but I don't think the frontman can sing for shit live. Foo Fighters I thought were excellent and absolutely SMASHED it. I don't mind some of the generic American rock bands so much, and Foo's fall into that category. They're a cracking live act.

The Twigs could very well conquer the world in a couple of years. They were releasing a new ep by this summer but no news of it yet.

Smashed it out the park. Destroyed it. Owned it. Big stage band and Matt Berninger sings just fine live. You're literally the only National fan I know that didn't think it was great. Headliners in two years time. You probably just posted that to wind me up. FFS Anyway, Kate Tempest's was the best set of the weekend. Just fucking extraordinary. The sight of 20-odd thousand white middle class folks reevaluating their lives in real time is quite something. Her last album is great, the live performance is life affirming. Legit didn't post to wind you up. I LOVE The National, they'd probably make my top 10. I just think he sounded a bit rubbish. I don't care if the consensus was they smashed it and he sounded great, I thought he sounded crap.
Also, as much as I love them, I don't see them headlining in 2 years.

I feared that they'd be trying to reach into the mainstream a bit more but by all accounts seems they're taking some risks and trying to be a bit different.
