Folk usually discuss their favourite Beatles LPs and songs, but what about the pile of stinking shit they were also responsible for?
Worst songs:
1) Hey Jude 2) Yesterday 3) Ob La Di, Ob La Da 4) Love Me Do 5) Revolution 9
Obviously the last one is less a song and more an intentional piss take from Lennon, or at least that's what I've always chosen to believe.
Worst album:
Let It Be. Pish. With or without the Spector production.

I rate the album Let it Be, tbh. There are a few hidden gems in there - Two of Us, I've Got a Feeling, Across the Universe, Dig a Pony etc. All of the records have their redeeming features but With the Beatles is only really saved by the run of three covers (Till there Was You, Please Mr Postman, Roll Over Beethoven) in the middle.
Agree with all your shouts on crap tunes. Obviously most of their worst material is the most mawkish stuff from the early days, but I've always taken a particular dislike to It's Only Love from Help! Pretty sure Lennon also considered it to be the biggest pile of shit he ever committed to tape. There are a few turkeys amongst George's Indian tunes too. The Inner Light? Wank.
Fake edit: Honey Pie on the White Album gets a shout too.

Yesterday is fucking heinous, most of their albums are pish and the drummer was ugly. Wank.

It's amazing, I keep thinking of shite Beatles songs and ALL of them are by Paul McCartney. Is Paul a bit like the Beatles' Gem Archer?!
Let It Be is probably the one song that really gives me gastrointestinal spasms. Michelle comes close.

There's no fuckin' way you all really believe those songs are even close to bad compositions taken on their own. They might have lost freshness after being overplayed to death or you could genuinely believe they're boring, cheesy or whatever, but those would be the standards for any other band in the world. I'm gonna report you all if you don't change bad or worst for less/least good.

yesterday is obviously an amazingly well written song, but it's barely even a song any more because of how many times its been chewed up, tossed around, and spat out over the years. almost impossible to listen to it for what it is.
hey jude, on the other hand, is just a great big awful pile of shit. and always has been.

Macca is directly responsible for soft shit like ELO, Supertramp and Queen. Maybe, but by that logic, Liam is directly responsible for the enemy and the twang.

You're Gonna Lose That Girl, while great, has some of the shittest percussion on it that I've ever heard on anybodys album.
