HERE ARE MY TRUE FEELINGS ABOUT THE ALBUM. 1) Flick of the finger - 7.5/10 - dominant. 2) Soul Love - 6.5/10 - could have been a 7 with a bit more effort and minus the pointless outro. 3) Face The Crowd - 3/10 - dreadful, sounds like terrible late 90's American rock music, and worse than anything off the debut. 4) Second Bite of The Apple - 6/10 - slightly better than average, awful lyrics, and should never be a single, the only thing going for this is one is that it's slightly catchy. 5) Soon come tomorrow - a plodding mess with more rubbish lyrics, saved slightly by some nice-ish guitar work - 5.5/10 6) Iz Rite - I like this one, sounds like a Be Here Now b-side and proves that a half decent melody with half decent and cohesive lyrics do make a fucking difference - 6/10 7) I'm just saying - 7/10 - finally some urgency!!!!! I'll forgive the 1,2,3, lyrics as everything else is really fun and upbeat. 8) Don't brother me - more plodding, one of the weakest songs on the album - 5/10 9) Shine a light - does nothing for me - 5/10 10) Ballroom Figured - I really like this one - 7/10 11) Start a new - beautiful song - 8/10 Conclusion, this is a 6/10 album with two great songs, and its better than the firstI'll be honest, axl; I expected you to give it a honking review. Interesting to hear you like Ballroom Figured which for me is still just an okay tune. It's sweet enough, and Liam sounds good, but could've benefited from some production. I disagree with some of your ratings, but thats fine. We're all adults here and it's actually healthy to have people who are Team BDI & people who are Team HFB. Having another listen now. When all is said and done I think I'll end up enjoying:- Flick of the finger Soul Love Second Bite Iz Rite I'm just saying Ballroom Figured Start a New Thats 2 great songs. 5 good songs and 4 bad songs for me. I also liked the bonus track. Still a 6/10 album for me.

My review after hearing a good rip
1. Flick of the Finger - Love it. Attitude. The whole tune is just as good as any Oasis opener off the last 2 albums 8/10
2. Soul Love - I like the moodiness to it, another all round good song. Love the atmospheric touch to it. 7.5
3. Face the Crowd - Worst song on the album for me, but still better than all of the turkeys on DGSS which says a lot 5/10
4. Second Bite of the Apple - An ok song - prob sits better on the album rather that on its own. Last part is great 7.5/10
5. Soon Come Tomorrow - A nice little song, someone said got a SOTSOG feel to it which i agree. Nice little guitar solo at the end as well. 7.5/10
6. Iz Rite - After listening to the phone version i wasn't too sure. But after listening to a better quality version i think it's a damn good tune. Maybe next single as could be a minor summer hit for them 8/10
7. I'm Just Saying - Possibly best song on the album. Love the energy, as everyone has said its back to Oasis in the mid nineties. 8.5/10
8. Don't Bother Me - I think this could be a grower. Got a good tune to it just goes on for too long, Should have been shortened by 2 mins. 6.5/10
9. Shine A Light - Underrated in my opinion. Love the intro and for me in general its a top tune 8/10
10. Ballroom Figured - At first thought i thought it was worst song on the album. But after a few listens I am digging it more. Reminds me of Married with Children. 6.5/10
11. Start Anew - Nice song to finish the album with. Don't think it is the 10/10 hit that some are saying, But cant take nothing away from it as it's prob in top 10 songs beady Eye have done. 8/10
Overall a real good album that is a pleasure to listen to. I just hope that it proves some of the doubters wrong and that they are now taken a bit more seriously. DGSS wasn't a bad album it just had 4-5 real stinkers on it that let the album down. This on the other hand doesn't have any and is filled with some real good songs.

Nice review, liamw.
I'm not listening to this record anymore until I see a top notch rip on Exy.

9. Shine A Light - Underrated in my opinion. Love the intro and for me in general its a top tune 8/10 It does start like it's about to launch into a James Bond theme song (which I like)

Anxiously awaiting the opinions of Baz Monkeytennis & Karl Mahoney. And Wintersox. Sounds like a lot of orbs were around during the making of this album.

Iz Rite has shades of All in the Mind, but more lush sounding. the bridge is killer - "so don't look down, i won't let go"
this song should be a single this summer. very catchy, the lyrics might be a bit easy, but it fits the melody and that's all that matters.

Every version of the album on Soulseek consists of a combination of the radio rips and the phone recording. Why are these morons sharing this crap?

I don't think it's that bad. The guitar solo is KICK ASS and it seems a better rip will reveal a bit more going on behind the main riff.
It's just unnecessary though. The album doesn't need it. Second Bite provides an injection of gusto in much more fun and interesting way.

Flick of the Finger: best song on the album. by a fucking light year. 9/10
Soul Love: reminds me of scott walker's the old man's back again. definitely one of the better songs on the album. could have been a minute shorter. 8/10
Face the Crowd: could have been on the first album. which isn't a good thing. sounds like your typical gem archer stinker. i dig that bridge in the last part though, hence 5/10.
Second Bite of the Apple: not a fan at all. production saves it, but liam's voice is meh as well as the melody. worst possible choice for a first single. 6/10
Soon Come Tomorrow: the guitar in the beginning sounds like neil young. nothing special, still better than most of dgss. the chorus reminds me of roxette (exactly, roxette!). 6,5/10
Iz Rite: the obscure oasis song! production wise, it reminds me of the be here now era. could have been a decent b-side around that time. 7/10
I'm Just Saying: the average half cousin of eyeball tickler. 6/10
Don't Brother Me: your liam song by numbers. would have been a digital download-only b-site during the oasis days. 4 minutes too long. 5/10
Shine A Light: filler. one minute too long.5,5/10
Ballroom Figured: an acoustic with liam singing. unfortunatley, it misses a melody that would carry such a combo. again a song that would have been a digital download-only b-site during the oasis days. 5,5/10
Start Anew: the beginning reminds me of the la's freedom song. one of the better songs, cos it comes with a melody you actually remember afterwards. 7/10
unfortunately, i can't see any progress. most of the songs are just forgettable. basically the same as dgss.
