First impressions of the newer tracks: Face The Crowd is wank Soon Come Tomorrow is superb I'm Just Saying is pure Don't Brother Me is meh Shine A Light's bridge owns your parent Ballroom Figured is but missing production Start Anew is a sweet closer It's not exactly 'out there' as promised which is the only disappointment. Half of the album is great so far although I'm undecided about the other half. I'll play it as one and judge properly once we get the best rip.

I've not bothered to listen t ANYTHING ( and I mean that) til I get a good quality rip but I'm going to stick me neck out and call Tucker out for 2 10/10s. I'll be very fucking surprised if these are in the same bracket of Gimmie Shelter, Made of Stone et al Maybe I was a bit hasty with the 10's but I can only rate them based on my own enjoyment of them. And, given that I think both songs are stunningly good, I figured 10's were entirely appropriate.

you were always one to jump into things fully committed. If you enjoy them then that's all that matters. I still maintain my right to be a bitter cunt and to mock you if I disagree.

"Universal........Eyes" LOVE IT (if thats what hes saying Face The Crowd - What a pile of shit

Face The Crowd is no worse than Wind Up Dream or Kill For A Dream IMO. Still pretty much filler in the context of the album.

I'll stay away from ratings for now since I've only listened to it a couple of times, but I'd group the songs as:
Excellent - Flick, Start Anew Very Good - Some Come Tomorrow, I'm Just Saying, Soul Love Good - Shine A Light, Iz Rite, Don't Brother Me (mainly for the outro tbh), Second Bite Average - Ballroom Figured Poor - Face The Crowd

Hello everyone. I just took the annoyance of registering and that only to say a thing: "ONE, TWO, THREE, JUST YOU AND ME. SEVEN, EIGHT, (ATENTION) NINE, NO WASTING TIME."
Thank you. Regards from the Canary Island people, you're always welcome.

only given it a single listen so far, but my first impressions are pretty positive tbh. in fact i'd say this is possibly one of the most consistent albums put out by a gallagher. seemed to have a real identity and a great consistency to its sound, and the tunes sounded mostly good. nothing stood out as being great (barring FOTF which is exceptional), but everything sounded good to me.
the only thing which really held things back for me was the sheer volume of either utterly forgettable lyrics, or completely HONKING ones. seems unfair to single out the worst offenders as really the album is just peppered with gash lyrics. i know we were never going to get anything great, but it just really doesn't make sense to me that an album that's clearly had so much effort put into its sound could have so little put into its words. again, FOTF proves that if they actually bother they can come up with something not amazing, but certainly miles more interesting that the mind/shine/light shit which is spuffed everywhere else. genuinely sounds like most of the words were just ad-libbed by liam when he came to record his vocals.
a bit of shame because i think this album could potentially have been something excellent. as it is i think it's very good, certainly a clear step up from DGSS and miles better than noel's album, but something of a missed opportunity.

Spot on there, 8track. One of my biggest gripes with it is Don't Brother Me. As I said earlier, if it was 3 or 4 minutes long with that cool outro (shortened down, of course) I'd dig it a lot more. It's just too long and there isn't enough going on for it to hold my attention. The lyrics aren't great, but, I could handle them if the song was shorter. Shame, 'cos it could have been a nice little tune. Face The Crowd is also not brilliant. Still not as bad as the bad on DGSS, though. Other than that, and as you point, the poor lyrics scattered throughout, it's a very strong record indeed.

HERE ARE MY TRUE FEELINGS ABOUT THE ALBUM.
1) Flick of the finger - 7.5/10 - dominant. 2) Soul Love - 6.5/10 - could have been a 7 with a bit more effort and minus the pointless outro. 3) Face The Crowd - 3/10 - dreadful, sounds like terrible late 90's American rock music, and worse than anything off the debut. 4) Second Bite of The Apple - 6/10 - slightly better than average, awful lyrics, and should never be a single, the only thing going for this is one is that it's slightly catchy. 5) Soon come tomorrow - a plodding mess with more rubbish lyrics, saved slightly by some nice-ish guitar work - 5.5/10
6) Iz Rite - I like this one, sounds like a Be Here Now b-side and proves that a half decent melody with half decent and cohesive lyrics do make a fucking difference - 6/10
7) I'm just saying - 7/10 - finally some urgency!!!!! I'll forgive the 1,2,3, lyrics as everything else is really fun and upbeat.
8) Don't brother me - more plodding, one of the weakest songs on the album - 5/10
9) Shine a light - does nothing for me - 5/10
10) Ballroom Figured - I really like this one - 7/10
11) Start a new - beautiful song - 8/10
Conclusion, this is a 6/10 album with two great songs, and its better than the first

Interesting to hear you like Ballroom Figured which for me is still just an okay tune. It's sweet enough, and Liam sounds good, but could've benefited from some production. I disagree with some of your ratings, but thats fine. We're all adults here and it's actually healthy to have people who are Team BDI & people who are Team HFB.

Without going through each track yet as I've only listened to the whole album in order once, then randomly played through songs, so far the best for me are Flick Of The Finger, which makes me want to punch kitchen appliances, Soul Love which I loved the instant I heard the radio rip, Soon Come Tomorrow, Iz Rite which I can't get out of my head, I'm Just Saying which is Oasis, and Start Anew which is sex. Impressed.
