Just done some research on Dan Lucas, the man behind that hatchet job of a review, he loves cricket, drinks wine (doubt he means Buckfast, which is the only wine worth drinking) and is a cyclist. Add those up and it's probably fair to say there is a good chance he's a paedophile as well. Drowned in Sound is basically a blog, filled with content from amateur/wannabe writers. There's no harm in that of course, but we're hardly talking considered or objective opinion. How do you drive hits to your website? Write a "controversial" piece on some celebrity/well-known craze and let social media do the rest. This prick will be sending CVs to websites like Buzzfeed and Vice for the next ten years, written in black marker pen with the words I WROTE THAT SCATHING REVIEW OF BEADY EYE, REMEMBER?!!

Flick of the finger is fucking brilliant. The rest is average and I was very underwhelmed at first however some of the tunes I thought were shite immediately are growing on is.

- BE Sounds Fresh / Be sounds about as fresh as a Cast LP - Who Tour Decent venues / Would be playing stadiums if they could, but they can't - Beady eye twice the live band / It's the same fucking band! Andy has hardly relived his Ride days. He brings nothing more to the table on guitar than what Oasis had - enjoy BE for what it is / a very, very average record with some embarrassing moments and one great song - Beady Eye aren't Oasis / You can say that again

I did add that it sounds fresh by Gallagher standards, TBF. Look mate, you've "handed your badge back" and can't even appreciate a solid gold tune like Second Bite of the Apple. I always had my doubts about your judgement. It looks like Didz, Krburg and Sam have been carrying you all these forum years. You've been found out

01: Flick Of The Finger Monstrous tune and probably there best so far, like most of the album it gets better with more listens. 9
02: Soul Love The song I was least taken with after a couple with listens but the one that wouldn't leave my head. Has a trance like quality and Sitek shows good judgement by keeping it subtle. 8/10
03: Face The Crowd Has got the worst reviews but I think its pretty good, the breakdown is brilliant and the riff that emerges in the background for the last chorus is ace. Goes on a bit long though felt like it could have been a bit shorter. 6.5/10
04: Second Bite Of The Apple Like Baz I go from liking this to it grating a bit. I like the touches Sitek has added and the guitar licks. The last two minutes are pretty glorious but have to be in the mood for it. 7/10
05: Soon Come Tomorrow The tune is decent, lyrics are decent but there's something awkward about it. Doesn't quite sit right. The solo is pretty impressive. 6/10
06: Iz Right The bridge and chorus are infectious but the verses are pretty dull. 5.5/10
07: I'm Just Saying Yeah it sounds like Oasis, a good Oasis from many years ago. The lyrics at the end don't really take away from what is a blast of a song. 7.5/10
08: Don't Brother Me Lovely tune. Lyrically not a masterpiece but Liam sounds great. Don't get the stick for the 'Give peace a chance' line as its obviously sang completely differently to the Lennon tune, relevant to this song and I don't think that because John Lennon used it once it should be binned off. Sitek works a bit more magic with a great meandering outro. 8/10
09: Shine A Light Chris Sharrock is great throughout but it really shows here, brilliant intro and a tune with real bite. Liam adds some welcome venom to it. Again could be a little shorter. 7/10
10: Ballroom Figured Nice tune. Liam on top form. 7/10
11: Start Anew Wonderful end to the album. Simple, beautiful and effective. The production feels both big and restrained and it works really well. Andy Bell said they never 'push the epic button to hard' and this is a perfect example of how well that approach turned out. 8.5
BONUS TRACKS.
Dreaming of Some Space - Backwards innit.
World Not Set In Stone - Average 4/10
Back After The Break - Good 7/10
Off At The Next Exit - Ok 6/10
Girls In Uniform - Total shit 1/10
Evil Eye - Good. 7/10
Much better than DGSS in all aspects basically. They really upped there game for this. Sitek has done a really good job but he couldn't have done it if the songs weren't there and err...they are. There's a few duff lines that you imagine weren't really necessary if someone had sat down and thought about it for 5 minutes but there are some decent ones in there too. As an album it works a whole lot better than the last one, its got a good variety without sounding too disjointed.
7.5/10

This prick will be sending CVs to websites like Buzzfeed and Vice for the next ten years, written in black marker pen with the words I WROTE THAT SCATHING REVIEW OF BEADY EYE, REMEMBER?!! I remember thinking DiS was actually a proper music site back along and being astounded at the poor quality of the writing on there. Rolled my eyes when I saw they gave this 0/10, it just looks desperate as balls. UNFOLLOWED. MY REVIEW Flick Of The FIngerGenuinely great, we all know this. Let's be honest nobody expected Beady Eye to ever come out with something like this, it sucks that the albums not great but this is one for the ages. You'd have taken that when Noely G took his stepladder and went home aye? 10/10 Soul LoveMichael Carrick. In a good album it's prickly mood could really be an asset, but it can't do much on it's own to turn the tide. 7/10 Face The CrowdBefore DGSS this is what I was slightly scared Beady Eye might sound like. If a band were playing this in a pub I'd leave. 3/10 Second Bite Of The AppleI was definitely guilty of doing the fanboy overthink on this one. The first time I heard it blazingly loud was the first time I really heard it (man). Don't get too hung up on the verses, they're just atmosphere and vowel sounds that I barely hear anymore, cos when the trumpets shoot up to the sky it's a musical gaunlet thrown down to anycunt who wants it. And the post-chorus is the payoff to end all payoffs - Liam G snarling commands as a fevered brass section plays him out with a crazed fanfare. Tune. 9/10 Soon Come TomorrowPretty decent. Vibes. 7/10 Iz RiteStill in two minds on this, it's chirpy and pleasant enough but at the same time it sounds SO tired and thin. Ultimately a good tune, done badly I think. Where is Sitek on this, he could clearly have done something here. 6/10 I'm Just Sayin'I like it more than I like people who actually say 'just sayin'' but that doesn't mean I like it a whole lot, it's just bland innit. Sitek, again, where are you? 5/10 Don't Brother MeLiam is great with melody and mood but can lack songcraft and it's never shown more than here. A pleasant demo of a 2 minute ditty stretched to absurd lengths. 5/10 Shine A LightFinally an answer to that age-old question: Yes, if Liam sang Part Of The Queue it still wouldn't be that great. 6/10 Ballroom FiguredAlmost forgot what a good song sounded like! This! Lovely, unassuming, heartfelt. 3 and a half minutes. 8/10 Start AnewI might be in the minority but I prefer the acoustic version from French radio, it has more of the quality of Ballroom Figured of being simple and direct and based around Liam's great vocal. This starts well enough, but half way through it feels like someone pushed the 'try and makes this shit interesting' button and it sort of half heartedly kicks in and some sounds sort of happen but it can never be properly arsed and it ends without ever deciding what it's supposed to be. A missed opportunity though I think, rather than a bad song. 7/10 BOUNS TRACKSDreaming Of Some SpaceOUT THERE 6/10 The World's Not Set In StonePleasant 6/10 Back After The BreakLiAmKloot 7/10 Off At The Next ExitPowerballad! 8/10 Girls In UniformTraffic wardens, probably 4/10 Evil EyeThebeatles 7/10

Surprised and saddened by the criticism, admittedly i'm judging after 2 listens but I think it's a really decent effort. The production is especially superb. I like it much more than the first one which I really didn't care for at all.
