I never thought I'd say this, but, this lot are butchering a Mumford & Sons song. I didn't think that was actually possible.

Not too sure why they haven't released SBOTA to coincide with this performance, ditto the album with x factor even? secondly anyone sure why they don't put more efforts in with the singles I.e physical releases, proper b sides, decent videos, live performances etc?! I get people say "there not arsed about singles blah de blah" but then if so why even bother releasing? they'd be best off just releasing not chart eligible e.p's.....

Releasing physical copies when such little sales are predicted can often cost acts money these days which is why they don't bother. Proper B-sides, a complete waste of time as they will largely go unheard. Which is why the extra songs have been used as bonus material for the record, to increase sales. videos/live performances, that is what youtube is for. Why bother releasing? Airplay, to let people know there's a new record out. E.P's usually do not receive anywhere near as much airplay as a single. The chart position of a single will make no difference to how much Absolute radio & XFM will be playing a song. The type of radio stations that will be playing Beady Eye songs now know and understand their audience, they play what they know will get them the most listeners.
Your thoughts regarding videos and singles are outdated now. A "single" is more or less a song an artist has chosen that they want chosen for the radio stations to play & for publications & internet blogs/sites to talk about. It's solely to promote the record.
It's funny that you criticise them for appearing on the Voice, one of the few shows left on TV that allow bands promoting material to play it in front of millions of homes in favour of outdated models that became completely irrelevant over a decade ago.

I've been looking at the 15 page charting thread on L4E. Fuck me! What a bunch of sad little cunts.
Why didn't they do this? Noel did that? Etc etc for 15 pages.
BDI put a record out. It's gonna go in at 2 which isn't setting the world on fire but Strokes went in at 5, Miles Kane at 8, Primal Scream at 12. No one, bar Noel, is selling anything tbh. BDI could have done the perfect marketing campaign and it still would have sold the same. Most people hate Liam. They have devoted niche market and that's it. Noel, to his credit, made MOR music that appealed to people who don't like music. Fuck knows how he done it but we all know he sold a bit of his soul in the process. Liam did the same this time but his soul is 8 times as big as Noel's so he's got plenty to spare.
In short, who gives a shit.
