Releasing physical copies when such little sales are predicted can often cost acts money these days which is why they don't bother. Proper B-sides, a complete waste of time as they will largely go unheard. Which is why the extra songs have been used as bonus material for the record, to increase sales. videos/live performances, that is what youtube is for. Why bother releasing? Airplay, to let people know there's a new record out. E.P's usually do not receive anywhere near as much airplay as a single. The chart position of a single will make no difference to how much Absolute radio & XFM will be playing a song. The type of radio stations that will be playing Beady Eye songs now know and understand their audience, they play what they know will get them the most listeners. Your thoughts regarding videos and singles are outdated now. A "single" is more or less a song an artist has chosen that they want chosen for the radio stations to play & for publications & internet blogs/sites to talk about. It's solely to promote the record. It's funny that you criticise them for appearing on the Voice, one of the few shows left on TV that allow bands promoting material to play it in front of millions of homes in favour of outdated models that became completely irrelevant over a decade ago. Fair play on a lot of that, but I'm all for them going on the voice, x factor etc. don't think uou'll find me criticise them for that, only the timing, which would have been better to coincide with the release date?! again you could say there not bothered about charts, but I wouldn't believe it, in fact in sure I read andy bell saying he'd be gutted if the album never went in number 1 (I know we're talking singles but it shows they care) (and on top on that remember Liam mentioning 'sotl' only going in at number 3) As regards videos I don't see why there outdated, in fact I'd argue in the age of youtube there prObaly more important than ever?

I didn't whatsoever. Dan Scouse asked why they didn't release a physical copy of the single & I raised some points as to why bands don't bother any more.

But seriously, what does "ballroom figured" mean? Someone with the body shape of a ballroom? People in a ballroom came to an agreement on something? What?

Ballroom dancing is striking exact difficult poses/dances. Ballroom figure would be a figurine of someone making an exact pose. Ballroom Figured would mean, in my humble opinion, they have got those poses sussed out. Those poses are hard to do so it's basically saying the person singing the song has got life all figured out.
The song asks lots of questions and also has lots of answers.
Yeah.
You dig? Beady Eye are 6 foot under with this album. Down in the tube stations.

Apparently it's number one in Scotland by 4 sales I'm glad I bought a copy now. A little can make a big difference. In other news, Shine A Light has grown on me immensely. It's a smashing tune.

One thing for sure is something like this gives you an entirely different audiences ear. The purpose of music is for it to be heard. Most of these people would never be exposed to Beady Eye otherwise. It's called adapting to the times people. As if Top of the Pops isn't a cheezy TV show too.

BE, the second album from Liam Gallagher’s post-Oasis outfit Beady Eye, has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart.
The Official Record Store Chart was launched in April of last year by the Official Charts Company and the organizers of Record Store Day UK to reflect sales of the UK’S coolest and most vibrant independent record shops. The Dave Sitek (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio and Jane's Addiction) produced album also entered the UK’s Official Albums Chart at Number 2, yesterday (Sunday, June 16). Scottish electronic duo Boards Of Canada are new in at Number 2 on the Official Record Store Chart with their fourth album, Tomorrow's Harvest, while heavy metal legends Black Sabbath enter at Number 3 with their 19th studio album, 13. Last week’s chart toppers, Queens Of The Stone Age, fall three places to Number 4 with Like Clockwork, while Daft Punk complete this week’s Top 5 with Random Access Memories (Number 5).

I must have listened to the album about 20 times now, so I finally reckon I know what I think of everything.
Flick of the Finger is simply huge. There's nothing about it which isn't great; Liam's vocal, the guitars, the horns, the drums, the lyrics, Kayvan Novak's speech at the end. The live version on Jools Holland made me want to smash my copy of Be Here Now. 10
Soul Love still disappoints me slightly. It's like a duller version of Born on a Different Cloud which doesn't really go anywhere. The production probably saves this from being an utter dirge. 6
Face the Crowd has taken a lot of flack on here but I quite like it. Sure, the lyrics are trite as anything but, like I said before, I don't think its any more banal than something like Beatles & Stones off the debut. The bit where it cuts down the drums and Liam's vocals is one of my favourite moments on the album. 7
Second Bite of the Apple would be the best thing on this record if it wasn't for Flick of the Finger. It took me two or three listens to properly get it, but the chorus is properly huge. Would sound great in a club, which isn't something you can say about a lot of Gallagher-related songs. Shame the lyrics are so clunking. 9
Soon Come Tomorrow reminds me of some other band but I can't think who. I like the fact that there are a lot of 12 string guitars on it (as there are throughout the record) but the lyrics make me wince in places. It's pleasant enough but it doesn't grab me by the bollocks. 7
Iz Rite I've heard this done so many times. It's not as good as (Probably) All in the Mind or even The Good Rebel (the only one of Noel's solo songs I thought was decent) but I can't help but like it. 7
I'm Just Saying' Chris Sharrock does Alan White. 'Nuff said. 7, 8, 9!
Don't Brother Me Eight songs in before the first Lennonism is better than I expected. Lyrics are awful, and arguably contrived, but the melody is quite unique - as Liam's tend to be - and I actually enjoy the outro. 5.5
Shine a Light I like this a lot. The cinematic bits work well and I really like the outro. I'm not a militant atheist so I don't share Lino's fascination with the lyrics, but if there's any justice in the world (as Lemar once sang), they'll do this as the last tune before the encore. 8
Ballroom Figures Dirge. 3
Start Anew Ok, it's a bit cheesy, but what a vocal from LG. Sitek manages to do one of his best jobs on this song, because it takes a while to notice that there isn't really much substance to it. A bit of a guilty pleasure. 8
Dreaming of Some Space Right, so it's Start Anew backwards. Box ticked, but nothing special 6 World's Not Set in Stone YES. Probably tyhe most Oasis-esque thing from the BE era. Haven't been able to get it out of my head for the last couple of weeks. I'd have put it on the album. 8 Back After the Break I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but it's great to hear Liam sing a ballad. The best thing is that it doesn't try too hard to be anthemic. Who mentioned I Am Kloot? 7 Off at the Next Exit Lovely, just lovely. I reckon I'd possibly enjoy an album of stuff like this and the last one. 8.5 Girls in Uniform I've seen this take a bit of stick but I like it. Should never be anything more than a b-side, but it's an enjoyable little skit. 7 Evil EyeStarts a bit like the Strawberry Fields demo, then moves towards being Across the Universe. Too many Lennonisms for my liking, but it's saved by the fantastic 12-string solo. 6.5

Ballroom Figured borders on a joke, it's that bad. It's complete horseshit. They should have left that off, burned the master tapes and slotted in The World's Not Set In Stone.
