second bit of the apple is another good example. the most powerful bit of the song is the one where he isn't actually playing. and that's something

Soul Love doesn't need shifty chord changes, - that is THE beauty of it. just a chill, dark melody, sit back look at the sky kinda tune. Its meant to be spaced out. Do you ever smoke joints babu? I like how Liams showing different side to his singing, i dig that on Soon Come, Iz RIte, BallRoom, Start Anew. and yes he does sounds older.. cos he is older!
why does every album have to be shouty/big all the time like all the previous albums?
ps found a new interview of em, talking robbie williams again. seriously how the fuck does he sell out 4 nights in stadiums.

Pitchfork review and approve the record, say the debut was more fun and beg for a Oasis reunion...

why does Soul Love get so much flack? i reckon it's pretty great, plus i'm not sure i've heard liam deliver a song like that before. cos it's so bland and forgettable. anyone who gives that more than 6 out of 10 is a fanboy twat.

A few weeks in and my view of the songs hasn't changed much - the weakest remain Soul Love and Second Bite, with all of the bonus tracks being more worthy of a place on the album.
Evil Eye is the stand-out track of all the post DGSS songs, just ahead of Flick.

Nice.
Intentionally ironic, releasing an atheist anthem on the Christian Feast of the Transfiguration.

I think the record is pretty fucking good, but I'm an admitted fanboy.

after about 50 spins, its a slightly decent record, prefer it to the first, but if anyone thinks beady eye are in the same league as noel g, they're fucking tripping or sucking cock, or both.
nothing on the beady eye record compares to the beauty of this - FACT.
Noel is a songwriter, andy, liam, and gem are not.
Noel is amazing, that's all.

Good song that, ruined on the album tho
Hmmm, the eye need better songs And Noel needs a better singer, backing band and producer.....
Haven't listened to Noel's album for ages, the one thing I hated though was the opening track, the way it had that epic choir and stringed arrangement but he weighed it down with the lumpen drums and bass line. Much better if they'd (b and d) have just come in with the vocals. Similar with what a life, after that first chorus it should have come back with proper huge drums and killer bass. Really went for it. But nah, him and sards just played it safe.
