It's a staggeringly good album. Head and shoulders above anything else heard so far this year.
Higgs Boson Blues might be the best song i've heard about how fucked up the modern world is since What's Going On and contains the line, "Here comes Lucifer with his cannon law and a hundred black babies running from his genocidal jaw"
Awesome.

Only heard it once so far but on the whole I liked it. My favourite records of Nick cave's are the more mellow ones like The Good Son & The Boatman's Call, this one fits in that bracket though this one has a much fuller sound than those two.

I thought on first listen that it was incredibly subtle, there's not a single note higher than any other.

I still think it's too self-restrained, I prefer my Caveman hysterical and histrionic.

I see where you are coming from, though this record has kind of gotten under my skin & stayed with me. I really dig it.

Yeah, I don't think it's bad by any means, but many people are saying it is a prominent high point for a man with a proven consistency.

I think it's an incredible piece of work. Like mahoney, it'a gotten under my skin.
Every time I listen to something else by anybody, I find myself wanting to go back to this.
