Ocean Colour Scene - Painting

I....uhhh....well....hmmm...

Y'see, here's the thing....

I just listened to it and I can't remember any of it. I think I liked the first two songs, but then the next twelve all bled into one another. If you liked marchin' already and whatever the name of the album that has 'profit in peace' on it was, you'll probably find something to dig. But, like I said yesterday....it's 2013. Why does this exist?

4/10

:D

Respect to you SRK, you deserve some kind of award for putting yourself through the pain barrier for us all. Ana, I think we should have a SRK banner.

I mean, it's not *bad*, but it's just....if one was trying to define 'meh' in 38 minutes and 12 songs, this is how you'd do it.

I'll always have love for them after that show I saw them do at the hard rock cafe (seriously) in TCOTU a few years ago.

They've been shit for years but I do think they are unfairly ridiculed at times when there are literally 1000's of worse bands out there.

I still listen to Moseley Shoals & Marchin' Already + the B-sides from that era every once in a while & still for the most part enjoy them. Some of my favourite early gigs I saw were OCS.

It is just kind of sad that in 2013 if you speak to somebody who still likes OCS to find that they haven't moved on at all & the only new artist they like is Jake Bugg.

I remember loving 'July', probably because it was the theme tune to the C4 spin-off series of Lock Stock. Then I listened to it recently and suddenly realised it was shit.

Listened to a bit of 'marchin' already' to remind myself why I used to like them...what a great little album that was. And oddly, I've had "traveller's tune" stuck in my head all morning.

Don't have their best-of on my ipod though, so I can't listen to anything other than the first two albums. (Or the new one.) Bad job by me there.

I've listened to all their albums lately, not recommendable...Moseley Shoals still is great though

Oh and Marchin' Already is good as well, especially Hundred Mile High City and Traveller's tune indeed.

Assuming we're allowed to count moseley shoals songs...always thought 'policemen & pirates' was criminally underrated.

You say it's like a bad thing.

I reckon I've seen them fewer times than Mahoney, must've been 4 or 5 tops. They were a solid enough live band, but it was always let down by the fact they did exactly the same set each tour (not that you'd want to hear any of their post-2000 put) and their fans are the worst in the world; they'd probably find Dwayne's solo record a bit too left field for their tastes. KEEP THE FAITH! WE ARE THE MODS! PROPER ROCK'N'ROLL! etc

Around ten years ago I travelled to another city with a friend to see them. Once we got there we found out they had cancelled, so we spent the whole night playing ISS PS2.
