Jacco Gardner

Been listening to his album a bit over the past few weeks, definitely An artist that sounds like he comes from a bygone era rather than immigration. I hear early floyd in his music too. Not really my thing but I can see how people will dig it.

i heard a couple of tunes by him just before christmas and got quite excited by what i heard. downloaded the lp when it leaked the other week and it wasnt as good as i expected on first listen but need to give it a few more spins.

Saw him on TV here the other day. Didn't know what to make of it (it was only 1 minute of music, so..) I'm fairly skeptical because nothing good has ever come out of here, but will give the album a listen later on.

Yeah you dutch cunts, why do you never have any good music? You must have had some music that's worth hearing? What exactly have you given the world apart from sexy football & paul verhoeven?

wow id never thought of this before but its true, holland is shit at music.

just checked my rym map thinking theres bound to be some dutch bands i listen to but cant think of but there really wasnt. i think the only things i had on there were jacco gardner, minny pops, harry merry and the ex. all of which are stuff ive not exactly spent a lot of time with or given proper listens to.

i used to think holland was one of my favourite countries with cool people and great footballers. gonna have to reassess now.

Don't worry, we're not only shit at music, we're shit at everything that is culture related. After the painters did their bit everybody decided that that was enough. As for cool people and footballers, there's Jorn, me and Dirk Kuyt. Surely that must be a saving grace.

Did check it out the other day. Nowhere near as bad as I'd expected it to be, it's been put together nicely. But style-wise it's pretty much the exact opposite of what I like, just felt no connection to it. Never have appreciated Syd Barrett either, which is probably worse.

Lol, as funny/rude as that looks in hindsight, its not how I meant it. If it werent for this topic i wouldnt have bothered listening to it in the first place, actually.
