On my 11th - 12th listen right now.
This is the best primal scream album of all time, on par with if not better than xtrmntr.
The album is a masterpiece.
2013 Hit void Culturecide Hit void Invisible city Relativity Walking with the beast It's alright it's ok
The above 9 tracks are the outstanding tracks out of the 13 on the album, relativity might just be the best song they've ever recorded. There's a shit load of pink floyd on this album which makes me love it even more.
Album of the year. ;D

No doubting the quality of this record but for me it's too early to say if it's their best ever. Agree about Relativity, it's amazing; possibly my favourite on the album.
No love for River of Pain? That's one of my favourites, too.

Don't know why but Blur's 13 comes to mind when trying to compare this album to something, although obviously not that bleak.

Sorry I missed river of pain, that makes it 10 out of 13.
The orchestral section is arse shattering.
What an album
Has anyone heard the bonus tracks? Nothing is real, nothing is unreal is another brilliant song

I wouldn't say it's in the same league as XTRMNTR or Screamadelica, but it is a genuine return to form. Fair to say that I'm surprised at just how good it is.
2013 and Hit Void are up there with their best stuff, definitely. But I still think It's Alright, It's Ok is shite.

I would also like this opportunity to go on the record and say Bobby G's pretend rapping is even worse than Browno's.

no way bro.
It's alright it's ok is the perfect end to what is a brutal sounding album, it's great to hear something poppy, fresh and slightly optimistic.
It's the albums married with children.

Going to check it out tonight. Have high hopes, as there's no album Primal Scream album I don't like. Even Beautiful Future is great imo. Was checking out Evil Heat yesterday night for the first time since a long time and it's just amazing.

Evil Heat is an underrated record for sure. I think it suffered from basically not being as good as XTRMNTR, it felt a bit like the leftovers in places which I've no problem with.
I've been listening to Echo Dek recently, I bought it on CD years ago & never really gave it a chance. It is pretty damn sweet, fantastic in places.

Totally agree about Echo Dek. Listened to it yesterday as well and got my rating up to 4/5. Amazing album at times and really good for relaxing on the couch with your headphones on.
Evil Heat is just as good as XTRMNTR in my opinion, but I've heard people who think it's too forced. Autobahn 66 is such a tune.

Yeah it really works being at the end of the album. I read an interview with Gillespie, they let the producer sequence the album. He wanted it to flow like a movie, have all the stressful shit at the start & to play out to a heroes victory at the end.

More Light is such a brilliant album. I love how Primal Scream have come back just as they have been written off. The screamedelica gig's could have resulted in the end of them creatively but they've roared back with this album.
Highlights for me are the opening 4 songs which set the bar, the wonderfully can-esque 'turn each other inside out' and 'relativity' with it's charmingly weird shift from a spacey vanishing point ish groove into that lovely outro.
There isn't really a weak point on the album, I even like it's alight it's ok now that its come to pass that the whole album doesn't sound in the same style as it.
They're always good live but they've now become a must to see this year.

Good post ^
The first four tracks are the stand-outs for me as well. They could have made a flawless EP, they have a real hard edge compared to some of the other tracks. The album ends strongly, Relativity is a monster. I've even grown to like It's Alright, It's OK.
