Nobody seems to talk about past music on here anymore, everything always seems geared to leaks & new records. Surely people are still discovering older music? If so what shit have you been getting into lately? Few bits I've been listening over the past month. Phenomenal record, of course the title track is where its at, 16 minutes of pure bliss but the rest of the record is also mostly golden. Heard a bunch of Simone's work over the years but I think this is my favourite. Such an unusual yet fantastic vocalist. My journey through Bowie's back catalogue hit a seriously shit spot. Fucking hell this is a low. In the same era with Neil Young, this CSN&Y reformation in the late 80s, I'd struggle to name many worse records So glad I'm nearly done with 80s Neil. Look at that fucking artwork!

I have no idea what that Bowie album is. None. And as the board's resident Neil Young nerd, I can honestly say that CSNY album is just about the nadir of his career. Bought this: last week and have been enjoying it. I know a bunch of the songs from clapton covering them, but he's pretty good in his own right.

The more I think about it, the more I like the debut by Rodriguez and the less I like the manipulating side of the documentary.

Though to be fair, had you not been manipulated by the documentary then you'd of probably never of heard the album. I did feel a bit cheated after seeing it when finding out that not everything was exactly how it was presented, but it still made for an intriguing viewing which made me happy & presented me with a glorious record. Kind of like the Santa Claus of documentaries. SRK: The Bowie record is Tonight, the one he did after Let's Dance. From what I've read about it he basically knocked out another record to justify going back on a big bucks tour. There is a duet with Tina Turner ffs Been enjoying the Labyrinth soundtrack recently though

Took me a while, but, the Berlin Trilogy by Bowie. Three of the greatest albums ever.
If I had to rank them I'd say:
1) Low 2) Lodger 3) Heroes
I want Warszawa playing at my funeral; so powerful. If I get cremated, maybe I'll have a bit of Ashes For Ashes.

Great ain't they. My Bowie buzz is so powerful, checked my lastfm and I've had over a 1000 plays in the past three months. If you love those three you'll be sure to love Scary Monsters & Station To Station.

Oh yeah, I spent my fair share of time with them, too.
Tbh, all I've listened to in 2013 besides new stuff is Bowie.

Is a release from 1998 considered old? Anyway, Massive Attack, Mezzanine... Solid.
