Babyshambles' Pentonville on repeat is another suggestion.

Van Morrison - Saint Dominic's preview Sloan - Twice removed Hawkwind - the collection
Hawkwind are a properly weird band, aren't they? I knew nothing of them beyond a couple of covers from that monstrous bubble thing...not bad, though.

Guns n'Roses - Appetite for destruction. Can only play it on the stereo when the missus is not around!

Heard Mazzy Star latest, without knowing too much about their previous work and without wanting to know. A whole record of that is too much for me, but In The Kingdom is fantastic tbh.

Finally listened to Velvet Underground's Squeeze, the infamous album released by Doug Yule after Lou Reed's departure. Like I imagined it's not that bad, it sounds like the minor songs of Loaded (Lonesome Cowboy Bill, Train Round The Bend), with bits of the Kinks, Creedence and easy McCartney thrown in.
Forgettable, probably. Reproachable, for sure. But underrated, it is.

I've always wondered about that one. I've decided that next year I'm going to go through the entirety of The Velvet Underground, Reed, Cale & Nico's output so I will get around to that some-time next year. Curious to hear Squeeze.
I've been revisiting everything I've enjoyed from 2013 over the past week, some records have grown on me loads whilst others which I enjoyed earlier in the year now sound decent at best.

To celebrate Bowie's birthday, gave my first listen to Let's Dance. It is a better record than what I thought, besides the title track that I'm not very keen of and goes on forever, the rest is quite nice and doesn't sound very aged. Wouldn't be surprised at all if The Strokes listened to a bit of this while recording Comedown Machine.

Today I listened to Guero by Beck. Such a fantastic album. Listening to it today brought back a lot of memories of getting stoned listening to that album again and again, back when getting stoned meant giggles and thinking you were on some kind of a higher plane instead of paranoia and being mongy and depressed.

I've been listening some Destroyer lately and I have enjoyed quite a lot what I've heard. I knew Kaputt and last years' EP of Spanish songs, but his previous works might become a gold mine for me.
