I'm not a big fan of this record.

Shite album. With the exception of about 8 tunes, the entire Oasis catalouge post-SOTSOG just bores me now. Heathen Chemistry is the best of the last 3. I used to pan Noel's production on it, but at least it sounded like a rock band. And he nailed SCYHO. There's fuck all songs on the last 2 that can hold a candle even to that. Working with Dave Sardy and bringing in Zak Starkey were the two worst decisions they ever made as band. DOYS and the accompanying tour were just dull, flat, devoid of excitement. EDIT: When I say it's shite, I of course mean in comparison to the Oasis albums that went before it. I still rate AIN'T GOT NOTHIN ON ME. I'd have panned Rhino for saying that six months back, but I increasingly reckon he might have a point. DOYS is pretty wank minus the first three songs (the two Dwayne-sung numbers tie with the two on SOTSOG for his best post-Don't Look Back album numbers, mind) although I've still got time for the Richard Fearless remix of To Be Where There's Life and Boy With the Blues, and DBTT is BDI-lite ruined by a few tepid Noel numbers and the God-awful Let There Be Love. Terrible production aside, Heathen Chemistry would have made a great 25 minute EP if you took The Hindu Times/Stop Crying/Songbird/A Quick Peep/(Probably) All in the Mind/Born on a Different Cloud and Better Man and ditched the wank in between.

Even though this thread is about DOYS, how the fuck hasn't Giants been mentioned?!
It's amazing, from start to finish, even PYMWYMI and ICSAL (songs I once slagged off) are better than anything off Heathen Chemistry and Don't Believe The Truth; not that I'm trying to polish them up at all because I love them both to bits nowadays. That record is the bollocks. The only minor change I'd make is slipping in Let's All Make Believe between the two Noel sung tracks (I even tried it and it WORKS)
I can't listen to anything off HC apart from Songbird and DBTT just sounds soulless to me, DOYS is far better than both. SOTSOG shits on all three.

Sully, m8, the reason SOTSOG hadn't been mentioned is that it's actually a good record.

So is DOYS. I was just saying that Giants is better than Morning Glory.

SOTSOG 8 HC 5 DBTT 6 DOYS 7
Anyhow, I'm in one of my phases where I really can't bring myself to listen to Oasis. I get this every once in a while then usually after a long break stick on the Masterplan and everything is OK again.

SOTSOG would be immmense if they dropped PYMWYMI
Heathen Chemistry is total shit (the album) .. But I do like The Hindu Times, Born On A Different Cloud, Better Man and even Force Of Nature when they're played live.

My favourite post SOTSOG tune by an absolute mile ...
Anyway i really rate DOYS, and alongside BHN it is probably the Oasis record i listen to most often these days.

Richard Fearless version of TBWTL or album version is the question. I'm partial to the remix.
BDI should play Gem Liam and Andy Oasis tunes as well tbh. BOADC, Eyeball Tickler, this, TFTGT, KTDA - tunes
Acronymania^
