Just listening to it now for the first time in years. Its aged like a fine wine. I can't remember it sounding this good. Reading a few of the reviews around at the time and the critical response was really positive in general. 51st fastest selling album in UK chart history. 200.000 copies sold in the first week, just goes to show even at the end they were fooking huge.

I think most of Oasis' last stuff has actually aged pretty well for the most part, except obviously for Heathen Chemistry. That shit still don't fly. I have always been a fan of DOYS and I honestly think DBTT has actually aged exceptionally well. I love listening to it these days.

DBTT is the perfect summer album. Sitting in the garden having a few beers. Really enjoy it whenever I here it. After the mess that was Heathen Chemistry they came back really strong with that album.

Oasis' stuff in general has aged pretty well, you know, I'd say the two exceptions are Be Here Now and Heathen Chemistry.

BHN has aged fantastically, it's the only one of its kind, the summit of a sound.

Be Here Now doesn't age, it's timeless.

I still love dig out your soul, as long as I turn it off after 'to be where there's life'. Those last few songs are pretty turgid.

Agree with Eddie, as always the voice of reason on this forum. Their worst album by far.

Good album, easily the best of da boiz last 3, Soldier On, Shockadalightning, The Turning, Bag It Up, To Be Where There's Wife (Hey! There's a pun for the Liam extra marital shenanigans thread), I like Noel's High Horse Lady and Waiting For The Rapture n' all. I said when they split, it sounded like they were on the verge of making a really fantastic album again.
As for the album that has aged the worst... Definitely Maybe? Really does sound dated to my ears these days. All time great tunes OBVS, but all a bit tinny and not enough bass to back up the pretty constant ring ring guitar racket.

Always been a fan of DOYS. For me, the only completely honking track is Nature of Reality.

Shite album. With the exception of about 8 tunes, the entire Oasis catalouge post-SOTSOG just bores me now. Heathen Chemistry is the best of the last 3. I used to pan Noel's production on it, but at least it sounded like a rock band. And he nailed SCYHO. There's fuck all songs on the last 2 that can hold a candle even to that. Working with Dave Sardy and bringing in Zak Starkey were the two worst decisions they ever made as band. DOYS and the accompanying tour were just dull, flat, devoid of excitement.
EDIT: When I say it's shite, I of course mean in comparison to the Oasis albums that went before it. I still rate AIN'T GOT NOTHIN ON ME.

the album that for me has aged the worst is definitely Morning Glory - don't get me wrong the songs are still brilliant but I was listening to Wonderwall the other day and thought, bloody hell this song is a time capsule. The production, the guitars, the effects on the vocals, everything sounds so 90s. Now, you can take Definitely Maybe or Be Here Now and they don't sound like they belong to any particular music era, they could have been released anytime between the 70s and the 2050s for what I know, but Morning Glory has that distinctive 90s sound that Oasis popularized and that now has run its course.
Don't get the hate on Heathen Chemistry, it's a fair record I think, it has some very good songs on it. It's far better than DBTT to be honest, that was shite, especially that song by Liam you can do aerobics to.

But Wonderwall sounds like the 90s because IT IS the 90s, if it wasn't so overplayed it could be the most timeless song ever.

Heathen Chemistry kinda suffers from having not enough good songs. I guess for me it's saved by Shagged on a Different Cloud, Wrongbird and Stop Poking Your Chin Out. Three classics tbf.
