I downloaded this with the sole intention that I could listen once & announce to everybody who fucking awful it is, but I've ended up liking more than I've disliked. It certainly reeks of a band trying far too hard to impress & they miss the target by a long way on a few numbers but for the most part it's pretty good. I don't think they've come up trumps in the song-writing department but the production sees it through more often than not. I'd much rather listen to this than their previous two records. That said though they are still the worlds biggest monsters.

I'm not sure about the production tbh, everything is overlong and quite uneventful. Probably their worst record to date imo.

I'm boycotting the album, i see they're making people come to their gigs in formal attire or fancy dress, what a bunch of cunts. I'll dress however i want, not gonna have lurch and his 57 bandmates dictate to me how i should dress if i want to see one of his gigs. Arcade Fire are sorry, sort of: "To everyone really upset about us asking people to dress up at our shows… please relax. It's super not mandatory. It just makes for a more fun carnival when we are all in it together. So far these have been the best shows we have ever played. See you soon. Love, Arcade Fire"
