Late Friday night I was listening to Ghostface Killah's Ironman record on my Ipod. I fell asleep with it playing on repeat & somehow Ghostface spoke to my subconscious mind. I awoke Saturday morning inspired & had the whole concept for a new L.P, all thanks to the power of Ghostface. The tracks just kept flowing out of me, within four days the record was complete & the first full-on adventure into Hip-Hop from The Jesus Abyss was born, Afrocentric had come from nowhere. The theme of Black America runs throughout, with samples of people such as Martin Luther King & Danny "Fucking" Glover with various clips from some of my favourite Blaxploitation films. What really made it was getting some rappers on the record. I found a site where people turtle themselves rapping their rhymes for people to freely use & experiment with. I spent ages listening through, most of them were terrible but I found some talented guys that go by the names of Bonez & Bad Paul which I used on the record.
Check it out guys, let me know what you think. I've released some questionable shit in the past but this one I'm pretty happy with. The Jesus Abyss - Afrocentric01: Look At My Shit [01:30] 02: Black America Within (Feat Bonez) [2:42] 03: Pain & Hurt [2:35] 04: Danny Glover vs. The Drones [2:52] 05: Rolling Thunder [2:35] 06: The Legend Of Willie Dynamite [2:00] 07: burned your bridges (Feat Bonez) [2:00] 08: Black & Beautiful [1:46] 09: Memory Envy (Feat Bad Paul) [2:36] 10: Respect [2:34] Download: www.sendspace.com/file/degwyi

LOVED it on first listen. Found myself nodding my head and scrunching up my face in that disturbing way of mine on several occasions, which is really high praise. I would say there are a few moments where it noodles on a bit but overall, I really enjoyed it and thought the addition of the rappers worked brilliantly. Will do at track-by-track when I have some time, but for now, great stuff karl. would love to hear more, you have a great ear for this sort of thing.

I am on a creative peak at the moment. I've made another record, this time I've entered the world of ambient music & I'm really chuffed with how this one's turned out. Brian Eno will be quaking in his boots when he hears the beauty of the Jesus Abyss.

Sorry JP but you aren't my target audience any more. No longer will I sound like an even more disabled version of Daniel Johnston. I'm big in Spain now, the dreams of headlining the Norwich arts centre are long gone.
