The Music on Letterman They smashed this, I was so fucking into that band when they came out. They never delivered what I'd hoped for but this performance is superb. Lemonheads on letterman Rocks much harder than any other version I've heard them do before. There aren't big TV performances anymore and it is indeed a shame. MGMT did one this year dressed like divers with a marine decorated, it wasn't particularly brilliant, but at least justified their appearance. Also, SPOILER - the weakness for my top pick of the year started after seeing another weird TV performance, and he basically said he wasn't keen on playing it safe.

Technically, SNL isn't a "chat show", so to speak, but this is still the best and most riveting TV performance I've ever seen.

This wasn't on a chat show, it was an Aussie Saturday morning kids show, but fuck me - it's easily the greatest telly performance by ANYONE.
The last 2 mins are incredible.

Look at how young the drummer looks The albums they released are all patchy as fuck, but the high points were generally greater than anyone else at the time. |

I can't believe I'm going with a recent U2 song, but...this was goosebump-inducing. Especially the last bit when the crowd actually stands up. Which, as anyone who watches Letterman knows, is a BIG no-no.

watching that video of the music on letterman is quite sad really. when they first came out there was a proper big vibe about them and people were talking about them being the next roses. now rob harvey plays in the film tent at latitude to just me, mahoney and one other bloke  |
