Best Coast won Soapbox album of the year? That's a bit embarrassing for us. There's a few good songs on that album but album of the year, I don't think so. Anyhow, a deserving winner this year

Foxygen (4th) gets best American record. MBV (2nd) gets the award for the most voted record. Connections (11th) win best debut album. Mazzy Star (13th) is the highest appearance of a woman in the list. Deerhunter (21st) will take home the Barny's prize for the most underrated piece of music released in 2013.

I'm not sure myself.
A big shame about 2013 was that there wasn't an obvious choice for the soapbox new heroes. In the past few yeas we had THE PAINS (discovered by Moz), Shit Horse, Action Bronson, Goat. I tried my best to make Connections happen but I failed. I hope 2014 sees a band come from nowhere that we can all wank over for a few months.

I find it a bit shite that the Scream got number one. Who still listens to the whole thing? Hit Void is worth a go now and then, 2013 is good, Culturecide is alright... but the rest?
Still, beats Best fucking Coast

I love the record start to finish. The way the record flows is actually what I like the most about it.

Aye, STFU Chrissie, listened to it yesterday actually to see if I still liked it. Quality album, 2013, River of Pain, Culturecide, Hit Void, Turn Each Other Inside Out, Relativity all pretty cool songs. For me it slots into their back catalogue nicely, maybe below Vanishing Point and above Evil Heat.
Fuck it....
Screamedelica XTRMNTR Vanishing Point More Light Evil Heat Sonic Flower Groove Primal Scream Beautiful Future The album with Country girl on it

My list would be the same. Well you forgot Give Out But Don't Give Up but that record belongs with the two stinkers at the bottom.
Last year I finally gave Echo Dek a proper go, I bought the CD absolutely years ago & cried because it didn't sound like the Rolling Stones. Excellent record.

I seem to not hate beautiful future as much as most. My list would be pretty much the same, aside from that.
