Decent enough right-back but wants to play in midfield so ended up not getting picked at all. Looks like he was playing RB for Roma earlier so might just be happy to be getting games again.
Linfield are in desperate need of a striker. So far we've bought Ethan Devine from Knockbreda (a championship team) and taken ex-academy graduate Chris McKee on loan from Rangers, but we need more. So far we've been linked with Kyle Lafferty and Jason Cummings, neither are realistic to be honest.
We've also sold our right back Trai Hume to Sunderland for £200,000 at a time when our only other recognised right back is injured. We're currently using a left back at right back but that's not sustainable. Our best number 10 has also broken his ankle so we need someone in there as well.
Supporters are itching for deals to be made, we've at least £1,500,000 in the bank from our European campaigns but the board seem unwilling to spend it, while our closest rivals are splashing the cash to close the gap between them and us.
One of our biggest issues is the quality of player our academy is producing. The boys being brought through are of such high quality that they are being snapped up by English clubs before they even make the first team. We've had players in the last few years go to Rangers, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Manchester United. These lads are going over at 16 or 17 years of age. We're getting good money for them in terms of development fees but we're not getting to see them in the first team, and then any money we make from them we aren't using to buy players for the first team because our head of recruitment is fucking uselss.
"Newcastle push again for Jesse Lingard and could turn to Dele Alli if move fails"
I don't know why this guardian headline made me laugh so much, but it did and here we are. I would almost like to see newcastle relegated more than for city to win the league. Almost.
