...that the greatest Oasis gig was in fact Jools Holland in 2000. Clearly very controversial, for sure, especially given the two replies I'll get, but... Pros: Indoors. Liam's jacket. Giants was played. Liam's voice. Supersonic. Noel nailing every solo. Indoors. Cons: Maine Road was 'magnificent'. No Guigs and Bonehead. Liam's voice. Jools crowd 'just stood there'. Who's with me? To back up the last point I saw on the youtube comments, I remember once seeing Eels and people were moaning that the crowd was shit yet the set itself was amazing. Sometimes, I think, people are just in awe of what they're seeing and simply don't need to throw a glass of piss around to acknowdlege they're seeing something amazing. Yes. Quite simply, they nailed it. edit: oh and Maine Road was definitely more than 'magnificent', I just meant Steve McClaren was there

That gig was the innocence of youth. This gig was the power of gods.

It's good and each to their own I guess, but I would not include it in my top 10.

Irvine Beach and the Barras (2001) both better IMO
Granted I wasn't at the Later with gig but still, Irvine Beach was unreal

Rock In Rio is the best one from that era.
10 minute Gas Panic and Liam's shirt FTW

Pros: Liam's voice. Cons: Liam's voice. And the answer can't be anything post-96, really.

Murrayfield 2000. A week after the Wembley shows, the press had been full of reports that this was the final gig / Noel was gonna smack Liam on stage. In the end they smashed it. There's a bootleg out there if you don't believe me.
PS How can a fucking telly performance be the greatest Oasis gig? What made them such a special band was that their finest shows were like football crowds where everyone supported the same team. A bunch of TCOTU no-marks standing round in a cold-looking studio doesn't really do it for me.

Fair point, CRM, fair point. I've obviously not seen enough from 2000 judging by the replies.
Plenty more chances though - normally when I get home from the pub pissed. Roll on.

Felt proper rock n roll.....until I got 4 days in a blacked out
