now that the echo has printed that moyes isnt going, I feel slightly safe in writing this that I was going to write last night...
when are people going to stop falling for this one? I'm convinced now its a massive con played by the bookies, from memory there appears to be a pattern (i'm tempted to take notes on this and the next few times it happens)
heres my theory: one bookmaker closes the book in an unregulated market (you cant do this with say, horseracing) such as managers going, players leaving etc which are fuelled only by gossip and not such things as form and on course betting. all the other bookmakers slash the odds on this unlikely event happening. lots of mugs splash cash on this unlikely event happening. the unlikely event does not happen.
fast forward a few months. a different bookmaker suspends the book on something else. the cycle happens again. in all situations sky sports news fuels the gossip and betting frenzy.

Yeh i remember when it actually meant something, suspended betting meant the bookies had heard something from a good source. Now when betting is suspended on something, the news sites/rumour mills use the bookies as their source and invent a new story. TalkSport are usually involved somewhere along the line as well.

talkshite spread every rumour though, the difference with sky is that they actually own a bookmakers.

i know, but talksport use sky news and skybet as their main sources, and a lot of betting markets get manipulated by skybet on talksport.
