everytime liam does interviews semi-recently, i have a sinking feeling that he will finally have turned into a a moaning old fart, and every time he always sounds so authentic and up for it. it's glorious.

"Noel lives in a £17million house. That changes you, I reckon. You have appropriate furniture, appropriate kitchens, appropriate red wine that Bono’s recommended. And Damon Albarn becomes your mate. Fair dos, but not for me"
Love that, haha, so true. I was discussing with my mate how both are twats in their own right but still as loveable as anything - yet Noel still seems obsesssed by money (unless tongue in cheek) and only accessible by the media and chatting to The Sun isn't a good thing. Whereas Liam is the complete opposite and as he once said, 'I still have a pay-as-you-go phone as it keeps me real'. This interview proves as such.

Well excited for this thinking about it - it's finally a chance for him to brush off the jibes of him living off his brother's reputation. He's had the balls to do it so obviously feels he has the tracks.
How and if he tours it will be interesting. Realistically he's never going to sell out arenas, which I'm glad about it, but if it's largely an album of ballads then I don't see him on stage for an hour on his own singing love songs. Will he bring out some Oasis tracks or what?
This is my guess: BONEHEAD PART OF HIS BACKING BAND. Please happen. (edit: that could backfire and he'd be accused of living in the 90s, but still...)

This KILLED me: 24 May, 2016
[Two photos of Noel captioned simply by"Potato"]“Those are the best ones. I don’t take photos where he doesn’t look like a potato. The day he looks like a courgette, he’ll get that as well. Harmless fun.” God, I fucking love Liam. I know a few people who absolutely hate him but I think if they read this interview, if they saw this side of him, they'd fall in love with him.

If he comes out with some sensible expectations rather than claiming to have made the best album ever again it will help.He should say 'people want to hear me sing Oasis sings so I'm going to' and get on with it. He should call the album Potato.

The setlist should be an LG best of. 40% new stuff, 30% Oasis, 25% Beady Eye, Shoot Down and Scorpio Rising.

Nice call on Scorpio Rising, don't think Liam has ever performed that live at all has he?
Look forward to seeing his new project live, I've low expectations for the record tbh. Can imagine it'll be like BDI being that it'll be a mixed bag of mostly average tunes with a few moments of greatness & just as many embarrassing ones to go with it. But to see him back on stage with a fire in his belly again with a handful of worthy new tunes will be enough for me.
Very excited for that documentary. I've not listened to any Oasis properly probably since whatever year Dig Out Your Soul came out, so hopefully Supersonic will cause me to have a madferit spell. Last couple of years I've had zero interest in hearing them. I think hearing Noel butcher so many of those songs solo has completely put me off the idea of listening to them in recent years.
What I do find funny & equally as tragic is my actual hatred of Noel. It was partly true when Oasis was coming near to an end, I mean I'd identified that he was becoming a bit of a cock like everybody else had, but that was about as far as it went. But I honestly can't think of a bigger cunt in music today. Every single time I hear him, or read a quote somewhere he comes across as a boring, bitter, miserable piece of shit. Forgot the forgettable solo career, What is most tragic is for somebody who used to always be so sharp witted & on point, how they can become so utterly humourless.

I mainly listen to the non-Masterplan b-sides nowadays, maybe a subconscious thing, but I do enjoy them more. Even stuff like Alive - I actually played my fellow Elliott Smith-loving mate that tune and it's one of his favourites. Lo-fi Oasis ROCKS.
On the subject of Scorpio Rising, how about Carnation?

Don't worry, have no fear, I will leak the tracks as soon as I can get my hands on them. You know I won't let you down.

This board at slower pace is still head and shoulders above Aids4Ever. Look at the state of them. I bet they still debate Heathen Chemistry b-sides. Even if it's just the Rate the Last Gig thread, new albums and the annual end of year lists on here, it's good enough for me.
