There are likely 2 reasons nobody told you:
1) They listened and thought it was dreadful. Who in their right mind recommends a dreadful album?
2) They listened and loved it but were too ashamed to say so
Or maybe just nobody bothered listening 'cos it's Beyonce.

album is brilliant. she is robotically professionally, sometimes to a chilling extent but she can deliver a wide range of songs (written by lots of songwriters and produced by the best in the business) incredibly well - it's really high end pop music, and i like it a lot.
