For me Odd Future went from being literally the most exciting thing on paper that happened in years, to quickly becoming nothing more than a constant disappointment.
I remember Babu posting about them then finding out that there were so many records/mix-tapes by various members & filtering through them all finding some great material. Then hearing the EARL record, the track EARL being just incredible. Then all the stories about him not being allowed to tour turned him into some kind of mystical figure. Then I saw them with Sam on the Queen's Jubilee day, it was a complete mess but a beautiful mess. Saw them again shortly after at Camden Crawl on an outdoor stage and the excitement around the place was just incredible, they were fantastic too. Then Tyler dropped Yonkers and it just sounded incredible, I don't think I've ever been so excited for a record in recent years as I was for Goblin. Also the great interviews (mostly by Tyler) that were around on youtube, I spent hours listening/watching them all.
Unfortunately from that moment everything has just been an utter disappointment. Seeing them at the Electric Ballroom was shit (tho the sound was atrocious) Yonkers wasn't even just disappointing, I didn't even think it was very good. Everything else Odd Future releated I've dipped into hasn't been exactly memorable and I famously do not enjoy the work of Frank Ocean.
So yeah, I'm not really bothered now. They seem more interested in turning up in trendy parts of cities and flogging tacky clothes then putting out good music these days.

Earl's last album was pretty cool.

FRANK!
The saving grace of music. Pyramids remains the best song the past five years.
