Though to be fair, this is always the worst time of year for gigs, most bands are doing the festival circuit so theres not much happening, usually picks up October then goes crazy late November/December for me.
Dunno what you're talking about, here in Edinburgh August is prime time for gigs. Haven't taken in any music yet, but saw John Cooper Clarke on Friday, good stuff but a few too many shit jokes and not enough poems 7.5/10
Not a bad little setlist. 5th time seeing him and there were a good 10 songs I'd never seen him do before.
Venus and mars/rock show/jet All my loving Letting go Drive my car Highway Let me roll it The long and winding road 1985 Let em in My love I've just seen a face And I love her Blackbird Here today Dance tonight Michelle Mrs. Vanderbilt Ram on Something Sing the changes Band on the run Obladi oblada Back in the ussr I've got a feeling Paperback writer A day in the life/give peace a chance Let it be Live and let die Hey jude --- Day tripper Lady madonna Get back ---- Yesterday Helter skelter Sgt. Pepper/the end
Think it's almost the exact same set-list as it was when I seen him at Hampden a couple of months ago. Although no Ram On for us, but we did get MULL OF KINTYRE.
Also saw Colin Macintyre aka MULL HISTORICAL SOCIETY on Saturday.
First time I've seen him since 2008, probably the 10th time I've seen him in total. Great show as always. Seriously, he's just got so many great off-kilter pop songs. Watching Xandau
Gig was slightly marred by it taking place in the worst venue I've ever been to, a rank old nightclub with a temp stage squeezed into a corner behind a massive pillar.
Pretty average Ksabian set till mid way through when one of them awful groups of lads take moshing too far and just get in your space and start barging people. I hate rude people in general but nicely got out of their way and let them get on with being porkpies. One went into my mates bird so I told him it wasn't on which tbf he took it okay apart from his mate trying to stare me out. As that was happening another went straight into my mates back who turned round and launched himself at them. I looked at the guy I'd just spoke as if to say "you were alright but I'm going to have to hit you now" We ended up giving them a bit of a pasting tbh. Walked towards the back and someone went "There's blood on your top" and I replied "that's blood from other peoples faces" like Anton which was dead cool.
Think I might give these sorts fo gigs a rest. I can't be doing with the kinds of wallys they attract.
Ended up watching the end of the set at the back bar and fucking off mid-way through the encore.
6/10 - Julie and the Mothman was the bollox.
