It's quite a strange list, isn't it? Pretty sure half of it would change if we redid every year (obviously some of the voters would be different too)

Ryley Walker record is just as I expected: Van Morrison, Nick Drake. Nice and well done but I didn't find any standout and although it's obviously good and I know it would grow on me, I don't feel like immersing in it. With Kamasi happens a bit like this too, I enjoyed what I heard but I simply don't have 3 spare hours that often so don't want to turn it into necessity/pleasure. Courtney starts sounding like the Velvet Underground, which is a nice surprise. Let's see if she keeps the level.

Always find it really hard to go back to the previous years albums in January. This time of the year I just want to listen to old classics, with a few January releases thrown in too.
Can't believe Noel is in the top 10, is it really any good? I don't think i've even heard a single song from it.

Yeah, I also want to find time to other things but... I GUESS WE DO THESE LISTS TO DISCOVER/RETRY MUSIC AND NOT JUST FOR NAVEL-GAZING

A broad range of albums. Cheers for posting that, fuzzy.
Hands up who's bothered to listen to that PJ Harvey album in the last 18 months?

Daniel by Bill Ryder-Jones is the one track that stands out for me, the rest is alright but a bit forgettable

-I tend to think Joanna Newsom and Laura Marling are the same person. For some reason today I remembered Italian forum member Shenandoah being very annoyed because some of these girls (or may be some other) appeared posing on the booklet photos of his record or something like that. It initiated a big discussion. Anybody remembers that? Who was the girl?

It was Joanna Newsom and because of the 'shots' from the artwork & promo around the release of 'Have One On Me'.

I spent a legitimate 2-3 years thinking it was a woman.
