There was a lot of stuff I liked this year, but pretty much nothing I loved. A lot of 6s and 7s out of 10 and nothing more than 8.
15. Carl Barat & the Jackals 14. Dead weather - dodge and burn 13. Ryan Adams - 1989 12. Guy Garvey - courting the squall 11. Jason Isbell - something more than free 10. New Order - music complete 9. Swervedriver - I wasn't born to lose you 8. Charlatans - Modern nature 7. Libertines - Anthems for doomed youth 6. Kendrick Lamar - to pimp a butterfly 5. Blur - the magic whip 4. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - chasing yesterday 3. Calexico - edge of the sun 2. Richard Hawley – Hollow meadows 1. Gaz Coombes - Matador

i'd imagine we're in for a kendrick win. he seems to be the one who features high up in the majority of lists the most.

You'd think it was a pretty fucking dull year for music going by that list.

Assuming D'Angelo was 2014 (would have been my #1 either 2014 or 2015), then here is my top 10, now no one cares:
1. Kendrick - To Pimp A Butterfly 2. Future - DS2 3. Kamasi Washington - The Epic 4. A$AP Rocky - At. Long. Last. A$AP 5. Jamie xx - In Colour 6. Deafhaven - New Bermuda 7. Courtney Barnett - Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit 8. Grimes - Art Angels 9. Young Thug - Barter 6 10. Vince Staples - Summertime '06
Great year for music

Keep them coming Barns. great work. Amazed no-one else chose the Lana Del Ray album Like all three of her records, it is decent enough, but never comes across as anything that is actually worthy of my time. I love the idea of this modern day Nancy Sinatra type, I love the way she's marketed as this bird that'd suck her own dads cock too. But when her music (minus the occasional track) has remained so unremarkable I've just ended up disappointed every time I've tried one of her releases. I wish she'd do a Bond theme though, she's tailor made for that.

Shut up kev, every year it gets harder for me to butter up barny to do the calculations and then you tell him that his work isn't important!
Barny, we appreciate your work in adding up all 3.5 of the lists!

Bowie would have wanted the list to be compiled and released in a timely and efficient manner. Barny's work here is a fitting eulogy to the great man.
